What a grand yarn that was my good king Theodric, but my favorite of your tales concerns how Tamerlane, the mighty sword of Aethelfirth, came into your possession. Aye, that story remains one of my most cherished memories even to this day. Do you mind recounting the tale one more time for me and the younger thanes who have yet to hear it?" You know how I abhor repeating myself but I will make and exception on this occasion because of tonights jovial atmosphere. Many a year ago, back when times were simpler and much of the land remained virgin a mysterious figure, who was named Belisarius, quickly rose to power in the kings court. Before my father, the king, even realized the dark, power-hungry ambitions of this fiend Belisarius seized power and struck him and my mother down. Right ere he died, he revealed to me the existence of the legendary sword of Aethelfirth, named Tamerlane, which was the only thing that could put an end to the diabolical Belisarius and bring our kingdom into a golden age of prosperity.

I quickly fled from my castle to avoid the wrath of the newly crowned monarch and set out on my quest to find the mythical sword that would set the wrongs right that Belisarius had done to my family and I. Armed only with the directions of my late father to follow the brightest star in the sky I headed into the unknown. After traveling for less than a fortnight I came upon the most putrid smelling and abominable swamp that one could ever encounter. Shortly there after I realized that this deplorable mire would be impossible to circumvent I gathered my courage and dashed in.

Unable to see more than a few feet through the thick choking veil of fog, I began to slowly feel my way through the bog. After many hours of trudging through miles of gelatinous mud, while fighting off an array of deadly reptiles I stumbled out of the swamp into a clearing that was home to a small village. Upon setting their eyes upon me the villagers dropped everything and scampered into a large round wooden structure located at the very center of the hamlet. After a few minutes of loud murmuring that emanated from the central building, an old, decrepit, yet wise looking man appeared from the building and approached me.

You are prince Theodric and you are seeking the fabled sword of Aethelfirth, are you not? asked the ancient man. Yes, I replied. How did you know? The gods portended your arrival in a vision that I had and instructed me to help you on your quest. The weapon that you seek rests in the belly of the volcano that you see before you.

I warn you though that it is guarded by a fierce giant that is said to have the strength of ten men, hissed the old man. I have no fear, I replied. I will succeed. Take this tunic before you go, it will help protect you from the extreme temperatures in the volcano. I thanked the old man as I hastily put on the enchanted garment and flew away to my destiny. After I tediously ascended the craggy volcano and arrived at the summit I met eyes with the colossal beast himself.

The giant was at least fifteen feet in height and over a thousand pounds of bone crushing muscle; carrion of once hopeful warriors surrounded the creature as he stood there scowling at me. I quickly gathered up all my courage and charged at him and with my superior strength threw him from the top of the volcano onto the jagged rocks below. With my magical clothing to protect me I then proceeded to casually lowered myself into the mouth of the volcano to retrieve the fable sword. Finally it came into reach and I stretched out my arm to reach it and as soon as I touched it I felt its incredible power and I knew that I would reclaim the crown of my murdered father. That account was as wonderful as the last time I heard it great King Theodric, but last time you told the story wasnt the giant already slain by the time you got there? Quiet, you insolent dolt!

I am the King and subjects do not question their king. I am sorry your majesty, that really Bibliography: l; sdafjkdl; fuck; fjkasl klsdfjklkfsadfksda; lf
