Abuse is the improper use of power by one person to the detriment of another. In today s society and world, spouses of marriages have been receiving abuse more frequently over the years. In most cases, the victims of the abuse are women but inter cases it can be men also. There is still one more victim of abuse. the children.
Out of all three of these victims of abuse, children in today s society receive the most abuse. Child abuse is a complex issue, no single factor can adequately explain why parents physically abuse their children. There are several significant variables that may contribute towards a situation in which a child is at risk of physical abuse. They include the individual characteristics of, and the relationships between, the parent, the child and the environment. Most of the time parents who abuse their children, were also abused as children and that their experience of being parented often included a high level of family violence.
There is a link between domestic violence and child abuse. In many families where spouse abuse occurs, children are also victims of physical violence. American studies indicate that about one third of adults who abuse their spouse also abuse their children. Australian research suggests that this figure may be higher. There is no reason that a man should ever hit a woman, simply because based on the average structure of our bodies, manage stronger than women.
When husbands abuse their wives they tend to several things such as insulting her, threatening to hurt her, showing off and treating her badly in front of others, blaming her for everything, and basically controlling where she es and who she talks to. In conclusion, physical and emotional abuse is wrong, and in this country it is rising at a alarming rate. Today s children watch their parents fight and argue, and in other cases the children witness the abuse. Later on in life they perceive this to be OK and the do the same exact thing when they are adults. The only way for us to change this ever growing problem is to stop it where it starts. That means we must make sure that parents never abuse each other, and never abuse their children also.
