In Great Expectations Great Expectations In the movie Great Expectations a young boy Pip finds himself not only in love, but willing to do anything for that person. Pip would practically bend over backwards for a girl named Estella, who treated Pip like a worthless hoodlum child. Pip and Estella both had many characterization s that made them seem absolutely different, but in the end they somehow ended up together. Pip was a kind, respectful, and hard working boy. He grew up most of his life in love with Estella, who acted like she would not give him the time of day. For example, Pip would treat Estella kind and respectfully but no matter how hard he tried she seem to put him down.
Pip would give Estella compliments, treat her nice, but he still thought that Estella hated him by the way she treated him. Estella on the other hand really liked Pip but thought she was too good for a dirty city boy like Pip. In addition, Estella, secretly, sent Pip to London to become a gentlemen, without Pip having any idea who sent him. Pip then spent part of his life in London becoming a gentlemen.
When Pip returns home he makes a visit to the house where Estella grew up, and finds her there. By then Pip was a gentlemen and Estella had began to show like for Pip, and at that same time Estella kissed Pip. Estella was a mean, yet secretive about her feeling s kind of girl. What I mean by secretive about her feelings is that she would show her feelings by being mean, even though it probably hurt her, instead of coming right out and showing it in a nicer way.
For example, when Estella, secretly, sent Pip to London to become a gentlemen, she was wanting Pip to become a gentlemen so she could have a reason to show him that she liked him. She wanted to be so secretive about it because she couldn t just tell Pip that she loved him after treating him bad all those years. Estella was mean by the way that she treated Pip. She acted like she hated him but deep down she liked him. In addition, Estella hurt herself by depriving herself from showing her love to Pip and being mean to him instead.
Estella did not know that not expressing yourself can hurt you even more than taking a chance and expressing her feelings towards someone. The Characterization in this story ranged from kind and sweet hearted to mean and disrespectful. A person s characterization is basically their personality. They can choose to be nice or mean, whatever they choose can affect their whole lives by just those few decisions
