Prominent Themes in Western Civilization Since the Renaissance Erasmus of Rotterdam is one of the most prominent Renaissance writers. Although, his Praise to Folly and Two Forewords to the Latin Translation of the New Testament are stylistically and conceptually very different, there are also many similarities.
