Global Warming The process of warmth circulating and the natural greenhouse effect are a well balanced processes every change in the concentration of greenhouse gases leads to the aggravation of greenhouse effect which in turn leads to the aggravation of global warming. Today scientists do not challenge the destructive force of human activity. Now, they are deeply convinced that the slightest change in the ability of Earth to absorb warmth, including the use of greenhouse gases and aerosols, will change the atmosphere and world oceans temperature and will destroy the steady types of circulation and weather. According to one worst-case scenario, the temperature would rise by 5. 8 C, which could lead to irreversible changes in ecosystems, a negative impact on the global environment, and a significant sea-level rise causing floods and widespread damage to human society through destruction of human settlements and infrastructures, as well as economic instability and massive food insecurity. Global warming effects has and will always vary for natural reasons. However, human activities are increasing significantly the concentrations of some gases in the atmosphere, such as greenhouse gases (mainly CO 2), which tend to warm the earth surface, and anthropogenic aerosols, which mostly tend to cool it. (Solutions) In 1986, John Martin, a scientist at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories in California, proposed an idea of seeding the oceans with iron to cause phytoplankton blooms.
The purpose of such blooms is evident. They can consume huge quantities of CO 2, and when the plankton die in a couple of weeks they would sink to the bottom and thus sequester their CO 2 (Solutions). Experiments show that it is possible.
