College: Lecturer: Course: Date: Types of customer markets Consumer markets involve people who buy commodities for their own use and consumption (Wikipedia, N. D. ). These kinds of markets are usually brand driven, and tend to remain stable over the long run. They also consist of relatively inexperienced purchasers, and hence give the sellers a wide margin for manipulating the marketing forces (Know this, N. D. ). Business markets, on the other hand, consist of buyers who purchase products with the aim of modifying them or incorporating them into other commodities which they then resell (Wikipedia, N.
D. ). These kinds of markets of markets are more price than brand driven, and can be very volatile in the short run. The purchasers involved are also usually experienced, and play a central role in determining the overall market prices (Know this, N. D. ).
Reseller markets are distinct from the business markets in the sense that buyers purchase products with the express aim of reselling them as they are- without any modifications. Reseller markets are also known as intermediary markets, as they usually connect the producers of the commodities with the ultimate consumers (Wikipedia, N. D. ). They include all middlemen like the wholesalers and retailers who buy and then resell merchandise (Know, N. D. ). Government markets involve government-run agencies that purchase goods in the market and use them to provide public services.
Such public services include water, education, national defense and health services (Busmgt, N. D. ). They can also use the goods so bought and transfer them at reduced prices to those who need them (Wikipedia, N. D. ). Finally, the international markets consist of customers who reside in different countries, requiring international transactions of goods and services. The particular kinds of customers involved can be from any of the other categories already mentioned (Wikipedia).
The involvement of a business in the international market can be as superficial as just cross-boulder decision making, or as complex as actually establishing facilities in other countries (Doole and Lowe, 2001). Works cited Busmgt, N. D. Glossary 20 th April 2009 < web > Doole, I.
