MODULE 7 Assignment 1 Different people have different experiences of working together in teams. Although working in teams has its benefits, it also has some disadvantages as well. Although I recognize that good understanding of team building and team work are crucial to my future success, I dislike working in teams due to several reasons. First of all, the major disadvantage of team work is time consumption required to create a team. In addition, some participants do less work, or spend fewer efforts compared to the other team members.
In this case, some people have fear that they will be required to do more work, while some of them do not like that they will have to share their ideas with the others, or that they will lose total control. It is also quite difficult to develop leadership qualities for the team leader, and my previous experiences of working together in team were mostly negative due to lack of the real leader able to efficiently manage the team in the best possible way. Although the teams seem to be quite useful and practical, on the other hand, the costs of human resources and team resources required to build a good team, are significant. Working in team is not easy, as it required an investment in the development of people, who manage and lead teams, investment in skills, as well as the procedures required to make these teams to achieve the desired outcomes. In such a way, team work requires a lot of efforts, and sometimes it is better to work alone to achieve results in better and more efficient way.
However, all these disadvantages may be reduced to minimum, and in order to make my next group experience a more positive one, Ill try to understand that working in teams may enhance the quality of learning, and may lead to higher-quality decisions, efficiency, and productivity.
