The Corporate Profiles for Volkswagen and the Sony Corporation Corporate Profile: Volkswagen Group Volkswagen Group is German manufacturer of automobiles. Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagen's mbH was founded on May 28, 1937. On September 16, 1938 the due to owners decision the company was renamed Volkswagenwerk GmbH. In 1949 Pon's Automobielhandel, Amersfoort - the Dutch importer of automobiles starts first commercial export of Volkswagen cars.
