In a sense we have two brains two minds- and two different kinds of intelligence: rational and emotional. How we do in life is determined by both it is not just IQ but emotional intelligence that matters. I disagree with this statement with the point of view that we have only one brain but our intelligence is split into two parts. They are not like separate intelligences working on their own. They exist co dominantly, meaning that we cannot have one without the other. This paper is going to answer the question, is the out come of our lives based upon our intelligences?
The answer to this question, one has to look deeper into the realm of our intelligence. A definition of the intelligences presented is important in answering my question. Emotional intelligence is the ability of us as human beings to understand how relationships function. By understanding the very complex workings of relationships, we will therefore be able to become far better communicators than we are now. As we will understand what or how rather, a relationship develops and what each party needs to do and know in order that the relationship succeed. I was not cognizant of this fact until recently.
When one understands how a relationship works, then one will be able to know when to try harder or to give up, given the signals by the other party involved. The term IQ means intelligence quotient, which is still a bit vague, but a quotient is the number obtained when another divides one quantity. Taking that into consideration IQ therefore means the amount of intelligence one has when compared to others. Our rational intelligence helps us to formulate plans and goals. It also helps us to determine how far in life we want to go and discover the means necessary to reach our. With our rational intelligence, though there is no emotion.
It is all about what I want and there is no consideration for the other parties if any and how the consequences of our actions will affect them. It helps us to find the reasoning for acting im promptly and for not regretting what our growth and development in terms of achievements have done to those around us. The second type of intelligence mentioned in the opening paragraph is our emotional intelligence. We have already stated a meaning for this kind of intelligence; it is the ability to use the intelligence we have with emotions helping us to use that intelligence.
Our emotional intelligence can sometimes be called our conscience. It is the little voice we sometimes hear in our heads when we need to make an important, or maybe, just any decision. It helps us to look at the situation from all angles; it throws in some rationality and also infuses the emotional part by helping us to get a complete look at the outcome of our actions. Many people, if not all, spend their youthful lives trying to educate themselves, if they have the money that is. After twenty odd years, they come out with diplomas and doctorates in all sorts of things. To the world at large they have definitely achieved, and can make something of their lives.
As my former high school principal would say, They have excelled and now they can reap the benefits of their hard work. This I do not agree with, not the fact that they have excelled and can benefit from their hard work, but that if you look at them, really look at their lives you will see a lot of flaws. They can explain many things, gives reasons for this and explanations for that, and can develop theories based on the knowledge for why most things happen. We will find that most of them are lonely people; they live alone and just exist for their work or achieving either their own goals or goals set for them by society. Dr.

We wonder why the levels are plummeting to such an extent. Almost fifty percent (50 %) of all successful people have an emotional intelligence of just barely making it through the average mark. I remember before I started any form of schooling my parents and relatives would speak about how people need education so that they can be all-rounded individuals, but today can we safely say that those who pass through the education systems are fully rounded? Alternatively, are they rounded for what this new millenniums idea of fully rounded means? In closing this essay, I can definitely say that I disagree with the statement at the start of this paper. The fact is that we have one brain and one mind, we also have intelligence but it is separated in two parts, and they cannot exist without the other to get through life.
One of my former teachers said to me just recently, I think that it fits perfectly into this essay, she said that, College life and school life dont prepare students for life, it prepares them for something that isnt really worth all the hard work you put into it. There fore from my perspective getting an education does not mean that a person has intelligence. I believe that when one uses the education received to benefit him and the world at large, will intelligence be truly displayed.
