If we look at the world today, many accomplishments in women's rights have occurred since the last century. Women are able to vote and become candidates for political elections in many countries across the globe. Women also have the right to own property, serve as safety inspectors, and oversee establishments as a boss and other high ranks. From facts and information I have examined, I think present-day women have more freedom and rights than before. At the end of the 18 th century, some women had the right to vote like those in New Zealand. However, they still didn't have many rights of equality or freedom.
They couldn't sue or make contracts. Money was scared for women as employers thought that they should receive less money since men supported the family. If a husband were to be ill, women would still be paid less than men. Even with lawmakers that protected women, they still had disadvantages to men. These laws had their flaws. A law could say women could not work 16 hours a day; thus, employers fired women and hired men instead.
During the early 19 th century, freedom was trying to be reached across the world. Women created many organizations for equality and independence. Women like Lucretia Mott and Susan B. Anthony started the groups as early as 1848. Countries from across the group like United States, Argentina, Iceland, Persia, and China met to give more rights to women. Even with these activist groups, victory was far away and did not occur for a long time.
