Pablo Pablo Picasso Pablo Picasso Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain. Pablo was a very popular painter, printmaker, ceramist, as well as an imaginations. He was known for his creativity and imagination. He was called the most creative artist of the twentieth century.
He was one of the creators of cubism, which is art that stresses the abstract use of cubes and cones over normal pictures. Picasso created his first painting when he was nine years old in 1890. After this painting many people had a feeling that this gift would take him many places. At age 11 he enrolled in the school of fine arts in La China in Spain to increase his ability to paint.
In October of 1900 Picasso went to Paris for the first time in doing so he established himself as a professional artist taking in a salary of 150 Frances. While in Paris Picasso went through went through what is referred to as the blue period. The blue period is where he painted all of his works in the color of blue that was believed to exhibit the expression of his fear of death and sadness. Around 1905 he started the rose period, which was meant to represent the fulfillment and happiness in his life.
Around 1907 Picasso fell ill and created works which were labeled as cubism. Critics believe that these works were created to show his emotional and physical illness through abstract art. On April 8, 1973 Picasso passed away at the age of 92.
