The Illness! Benedick and Beatrice, Claudio and Hero, these four very different people that all end up with the same illness. They are two relationships with two sets of very different people. Benedick and Beatrice are outgoing and Bold, Claudio and Hero are shy and quiet. Both relationships start out differently as well.

Beatrice and Benedick start out hating each other while the other two start out with love at first sight. The relationships are always different with Benedick and Beatrice hating each other and Claudio and Hero utterly in love and then when Benedick and Beatrice admit they are in love, the other two are getting a divorce. Both relationships end up like a Shakespearean comedy should end, with marriages, but other than that, The two relationships are different. Benedick and Beatrice both start out hating each other dearly. They exchange insults, and seem to really enjoy it.

You can tell that the two love each other because the only thing they seem to talk about is the other person. They may act as if they hate one another but they seem to be having an innocent battle of wits rather than a brawl. When they do admit their love, they still do it in secret. Claudio and Hero at this time are also in love and about to get married. This is one of the greatest times in the play other than the ending. However, in a little while, Benedick and Beatrice will be in love, Hero and Claudio will be torn apart.

There Leonato, take her back again. Give now this rotten orange to your friend (pg. 60 ln. 30 - 31). Claudio throws back Hero to Leonato rejecting her as if she were a pariah. Claudio and Hero started out in total bliss but then a shady scheme tore them apart and it tore them apart violently. Around this time Beatrice and Benedick are hitting it off quite nicely. Now these two are in total love just as if they were Hero and Claudio in the beginning.

Right now the two relationships are totally opposite. Enough, I am engaged. I will challenge him. I will kiss your hand, and so I leave you. (Pg. 70 ln. 330 - 331).

Now Benedick and Beatrice are engaged and not only that but Claudio and Benedick enemies and Benedick will challenge him to a duel. Another difference between the two relationships is that Benedick and Beatrice are the loudmouth know-it-alls and Claudio and Hero are the quiet, harmless people that don t stand out in a crowd. Benedick and Beatrice talk so much that they even get on each other s nerves. You are a rare parrot-teacher (pg. 7 ln. 133).

Benedick insults Beatrice because she talks all the time and says the same thing over and over again. Hero and Claudio simply put, just don t talk. They are mainly quiet, probably because Benedick and Beatrice just can t seem to shut up. Hero does speak up once or twice and that is when she is tricking Beatrice and at this time Beatrice can t speak up or she will give herself away.

Claudio also speaks up at his wedding and also says a few things while he gets his turn to trick Benedick. Normally, Hero and Claudio are silent and Benedick and Beatrice do a lot of the talking, and it shows easily while you are reading the play On the other hand the two relationships have some things in common. The men usually lose their temper and the females play the non-aggressive subdued type. It all depends on the way you read it.

Claudio loses his temper at his wedding when he hands (Pg. 60 ln. 30) Hero to Leonato ever so gently. Benedick also loses his cool when he challenges Claudio to a duel. You are a villain. I jest not; I will make it good how you dare, with what you dare, and when you dare. (Pg. 78 ln. 145 - 147). Benedick threatens Claudio and gets pretty aggressive with him as well.

Claudio and Hero are usually quiet and subdued. Hero usually is quiet, and whenever Hero is around Claudio, Claudio does most of the talking. She does not get much of a chance to voice her opinion. Beatrice gets quiet around the end, but it is all in how you look at it.

Benedick and Beatrice get married, and display their love in public. Benedick kisses her, and it looks as if after that Beatrice turns into the quiet housewife. In the end, when all is said and done, everything works out like poetic justice. You get a happy ending and the villain gets punished. Look at both relationships, just look at them, it can be concluded that they are both different and also they are similar, but never at the same time. The relationships have their similarities, but they never seem to occur at the same time.

When Benedick and Beatrice hate each other, Hero and Claudio are in love. When Benedick and Beatrice love each other, Hero and Claudio hate each other. The two relationships have their differences as well as their similarities. Both relationships also have their own suprise's. Beatrice does turns quiet is a shocking surprise and after the whole scene at the wedding. The two relationships are similar and different and in the end both of the relationships work out and you have a happy ending. 333
