Tesman was alarmed because he wanted that job, but Brack assured him that he would get that job. Hedda was talking to Judge Brack alone while Tesman went visiting his aunt Julle. The reason why Hedda married Tesman was because she was tired of being single. The honeymoon vacation they had was boring and she even begged to Brack not to use the word love. She sounded that her marriage was a mistake. She hated the house that claimed to be a dream house and she was not happy to be with Tesman.
Tesman did not admit that he was jealous to Eljert. Eljert got drunk and made a speech in honor of an unnamed woman who loved his work. Eljert dropped his manuscript when he left but Tesman picked it up. At that night, Eljert went to Mademoiselle Diana s room. Eljert began to start a fight about he lost a parcel. When the police came, he resisted the arrest.
Brack came and told the Tesman's that they should close the door for Eljert. Eljert came to Hedda s house really early. He asked about the party to her and she replied the party was very merry. Mrs. Elvsted came to the house and she was relieved to see Eljert. Eljert explained to her that he destroyed his manuscript.
Mrs. Elvsted immediately left the house, this sort of Eljert s tactics of getting rid off her. He then later he wanted to commit suicide and Hedda gave her gun to him. She started to burn Eljert manuscript over the fire.
She burned it page by page and said that she was burning the child of Eljert.
