All the Best Things in Life Are Free All the best things in life are free and I do not have any doubt about it. Certainly, it all depends on what are the best things for each individual. However, there are things that all people value the most. Each of us believes that own life as the most valuable thing we have and the life is free for all of us. We did not pay anything the moment we were born. Even though we did not chose whether we should or should not have been born, the vast majority of people consider life to be valuable, because just of our essence.
The instinct of life preservation is probably the strongest human being has. Because of this life itself somewhere deep in our brains is so valuable. Some people may say that life does not bring much pleasure, but still they do not want to die, probably because they hope that some day the situation will change and life will bring happiness. Happiness is another thing that can be free. Happiness itself is different for each individual. Some people need to have lot of money to be happy, however money or other material good is not what makes individual happy.
Money is just viewed by people as the tool that will help to become happier. But what is happiness then? I think that happiness is the entity of positive feelings. Many things can cause positive feelings thus making person happy. Many positive feelings are free, and many of them are undoubtedly are the best things in our lives. Let us take love for example.
Love is the best feeling a person had ever experienced. People love their parents, spouses or friends. Love is free. It is because love is feeling, and feelings are things that you cannot pay for. You never pay to fall in love.
Friendship is free too. You are not paying a cent to be friends with someone, certainly, if you have true friendship with a person. You can buy something for someone in order to be appreciated, which can bring you one-step closer towards the person you want to be friends with, but from my own experience this does not help much. Friendship is type of relationship that is based solely on persons need of acceptance. Each of us wants to be valued and accepted and the acceptance is based only on our own features that are appealing to others. One other thing that is free is health.
Some may argue that if you are sick you need to pay money to be cured, however since I can walk, see, hear etc. I feel that I am healthy. I have brain, which was given by nature. It is also free. Health is provided by nature and we all are aware of it. I consider myself to be healthy at the moment, but I did not pay money for it when I was 5 or 7 years old.
Many other things make each individual happy. For one person it may be a win in a basketball game, for another it may be an achievement of some different personal goal. If to take a win in a basketball game for example, then it is possible to find that a person should train a lot in order to play well and win. Practicing is a hard work, but we can practice without paying money and still reach needed result. Since practicing is hard work, it is possible to notice that obtaining skill is not free.
Then the question rises, what is free and what is not? We pay with money for some things, for other we pay with our emotions or efforts. According to physics, energy cannot appear from nothing; therefore, best things in our lives cannot too. We always sacrifice one thing in order to obtain another and it is simple formula of life. As I have stated in the beginning, our life is free, but now it is possible to say that it is not. Many people around the world are struggling for their lives.
They put their efforts to continue living, and these efforts are probably the biggest they ever made in their entire lives. The way I think, There is no such thing as free lunch.
