We hope that something will happen to us and we become happy, rich and successful. We dream of meeting someone, who makes us the way we want to be. During this waiting period we often loose many things, people or opportunities, which are very important for us.
It is the most disappointing thing in life when an old man says, I lived for 70 years but I have nothing to remember. I am not old now but I can understand this man. I can say that I had a very happy childhood. My parents took good care of me, they gave me everything I wanted. There was practically nothing inaccessible for me. While I was growing up, they were always helping me to find a solution to any difficult situation, to choose the right way of living.
When I needed advise I always could get it and I was sure that it was the best decision at that moment. I was successful practically in everything: studying was easy for me, I always was a very outgoing person and my relationships with people were good. I knew that if something wrong happens to me, my parents would come and help me. However, in spite of all this I was not completely happy. I always had some discontent inside me.
I understood that I was living in kind of a vacuum that defended me of every trouble of the outside world. I often thought about sense of my life and I could not find it. I realized that I did not even know all sides of my own personality. I did not understand my goals and ambitions. This fact pressed me most of all. I wanted changes but I did not know how to make them happen.
Now is the time for me to choose what I want to do with my life, and I know that this is my choice only and nobody else is able to make it instead of me. I know that I have to fight for my place in college and I will do my best to get in. However, this feels nice for me because I will be able to test all of my personal qualities, all of my inside recourses will be used. Realizing this fact fills me with joy and happiness because I have to fight. Personally, I think that when you choose something, you fight for it and you get it, you really change your life in your own way. Even if I make some mistakes I will get experience that I will be able to use in future.
We must become the change we want to see in the world - I think that a man who really knew what fighting was all about said these words. Mahatma Gandhi was a great person. He did much for the prosperity of his country and his people, and I believe that he realized his words for 100 percent. His life can be an example of nobility and self-sacrifice. I think he never doubted that there was a point in his life because he always had the great goal in his heart that was burning like a fire, and made many other hearts burn as well.
This person really felt the power inside to be the change he wanted to see in the world. I envy of people like him very much. My greatest wish at this moment is not only to get into college, get a good education, but also for that education to be the force that will make me a worthy independent person, who knows his goals and the point of his life.
