Ethic This paper is dedicated to ethic problems in sphere of aviation. Using the ethical frameworks discussed in class, I will try to answer on following question: how should the F AA decide whether to require infants to fly in safety seats? Why such talk is taken place especially in such field? What ethic can be applied to aviation? The thing is that when safety standards start to clash with money the only thing we can hold on is ethic. After some huge crashes (the May 11 crash in Florida that killed 110 people, for example) the level of safety was extremely risen up.

Past two months have seen a festival of recriminations about sloppy practices at both Valu Jet and the FAA. A Washington Post editorial declared, "The public needs evidence that the government is insisting on the highest safety standards possible. " But there are few problems one of them that that the highest safety standards possible are too high. The second problem is that there is no reason every airline should meet the same level of safety. That is why some discount airlines have good reason to be less safe traditional full-price carriers. Of course, in aviation there is no place for negligence and rule breaking. But while raising safety standards all pros and cons must be considered.

It is well-understandable that some people may prefer less safe but cheaper ways of travels. The question of whether to require infants to fly in safety seats is one of the hottest one. An FAA-commissioned study, however, determined that requiring safety seats would actually cost lives. But how can they when parents prefer to drive instead of fly? According to special study the small-children-fly-free policy would result in causing one-fifth of all families to use a car instead plane. Study figured that whereas the safety seats would save an average of one child's life per decade, the extra driving (far more dangerous than flying) would cost nine lives.

So the situation is that theoretically the idea of infants to fly in safety seats is very attractive. In the light of high safety standards and all presented from this point of view facts it looks very reasonable. But if we take closer look on human psychology we can find out that in situation where there is a choice between real high prices and some ghostly menace people usually choose money. I think that safety seats for infants must be required only if it is affordable for the large number of people. And flex discount system can be a first step for making this safety standard more popular. When prices on safety stop to be striking, people would accept them more easily, I think.

However the problem is that for some relevant stakeholders the current situation is profitable. New programs starts, new opportunities appears, new possibilities to make money. Current solution on stakeholders affects them negatively but that doesnt help to change the situation as a whole. Who are stakeholders? In the concept of law the role of stakeholder is very old. Originally it was a person who holds money and different other property while its owner is being determined.

The need in stake holder often arose when two persons bet on the outcome of a future event and third disinterested and neutral person hold money (stake) and he is called stakeholder. Money is staked until events occur. Courts also can act as stakeholders, holding money and property while the question of litigation resolves the issue of which owner is entitled to the property. Trustees also can act as stakeholders, holding property until beneficiaries come of age.

Exist numerous definitions which describe various functions of stakeholders many of them in some sense, are opposite to one another. But for in our case only one meaning is valuable. According to various definitions found in Internet stakeholders are an individual or group who has a stake in the outcome of the project. Usually stakeholders are from within the company. Stakeholders could include internal clients, management, employees, administrators, etc. A project may also have external stakeholders, including suppliers, investors, community groups and government organizations.
