Political Argument George Bush compared Usama Bin Laden with Lenin and Hitler. According to him, the most dangerous mistake is to underestimate the words of cruel and ambitious people. To support his point of view, George Bush quoted several phrases from Bin Laden's speeches and speeches of other members of Al-Kaida. Bush considers that the world ignored Hitlers and Lenin's words and paid an enormous price for that.

The President warned not to repeat the same mistake with Al-Kaida. He said that Bin Laden forms the intention to conquer the world and doesnt even hide it. This series of speeches is dedicated to strengthen positions of Republicans on the eve of elections to the Congress. The main theme of these speeches is struggle against terrorism and the Iraq war. George Bush mentioned recently renewed National Strategy dedicated to the struggle with terrorism that contains such tasks like preventive measures on future attacks of the terrorists. Bush considers that the best way to protect the United States of America is to continue the attack.

Another goal of Bush's speech is not to allow terrorists getting control over the territories where they can hide. Obviously, Bush has in mind the territories of Iraq and Afghanistan. The President tried to explain the necessity of programs aimed to listening of phone talks people suspected in belonging to terrorist activity. At the same time, the speech of George Bush can be exposed to a strong criticism by his opponents. In case Bush continued consistent pursue of Osama Bin Laden, he didnt have to remind us his words. Instead of reaching this logical goal, Bush allowed involving in useless war in Iraq and allowed the terrorist leader planning new attacks in a safe place at the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

As far as we remember, Roman senator Marcus Portius Kato got used to start and to finish his political speeches with the following words: Carthage should be destroyed. Senat has nothing but to listen to consider his opinion as Marcus Portius Kato was one of the most influential politicians of his times and the fear of Carthage was great. As a result of this, III Punic war occurred. Something similar takes place nowadays at the political Olympus of the United States on the eve of elections to the Congress. Administration of George Bush has nothing to propose but the war with terrorism; Democrats have nothing to strike back with but with losses in Iraq. The situation is almost paradoxical.

According to Gallup polls, only 35 - 37 % of people support political activity of George Bush. At the same time, more than 55 % support his intention to struggle against the world terrorism. No wonder that in order to prove their effectiveness; the Republicans have nothing but to show their success in public or secret war with the enemies of the great nation. No wonder that the Republican National Committee recommended to use this argument in their election campaign.

The advice is quite reasonable as Republicans do have what to demonstrate in this field. For example, they can boast with the absence of acts of terrorism since 2001 at the territory of the United States. At the same time they are able to provide the nation with dreadful statistics of European and Asian acts of terrorism. The main armour-bearers of George Bush, Rumsfeld and Chaney have already reported statistical data during their recent speeches. Here comes the paradox. From the one hand, the candidates to Congress do not want to associate their names with the name of unpopular President, whereas from the other hand, his pathetic words a-la Marcus Kato can attract attention of escaping electorate.

Yet, the very idea to use struggle against terrorism as a cover smells bad.
