1. Since the early 1980 's, the government is seriously concerned about issue of America's system of education in schools and universities. American students show very poor results in international tests and fail to demonstrate their knowledge. The percent of youth-at-risk is growing.
It is very strange that though the government knows that the problem exists, it didnt make any effort to do something to improve the situation. Student dropouts are also a big concern. As a result some of them do not get any education at all. According to psychologists, the main reason is that students do not have any interest in school. They dont want to memorize and simply rote things that they are not interested in. So teachers must look for the ways to improve their teaching methods, cause children are really bored with the present that leads to dropout.
More students drop out of school, more unemployment the country has. The stable economy depends on less unemployment and more people at the workplace. The government must find the way to keep kids in schools and students in the universities in order to save our front line in the international economy. The inequality is a great problem that affects many areas of life.
Schools are usually offer perfect education only for rich people leaving other without it at all or in poor conditions. The problem is evident but still nothing is done to improve the situation. That makes the gap between the upper and lower classes bigger. Poor schools must get some help from the state in order to improve their conditions.
This is one of the way to improve the system of education. Some years ago people still were afraid to get their children to private schools, cause the latter were considered to be illegal. Really there were a lot of such cases when young people went to the private institution, studied for 5 years and then this institution was closed and they remained without diploma and their big money they paid to this school. But now the situation is much better and more and more parents choose for their children private institutions instead of public, cause they can meet modern standards, their level of education is much higher and their diploma is more prestigious. Also they can offer more suitable conditions and environment for study. The test scores of private schools are higher than those of public schools are.
The main reason scores are higher is because of class sizes. Children in private schools do not have congested classes. But still the education is too expensive. More private schools appear, more youth remains without education. Our ancestors did their best to make our country superior. And we must give them our due and work hard to maintain and improve our economic situation.
To do that our children must study well, improving their results in the international tests. First, we must realize that the our education is really a big problem, notwithstanding that we used to think that we have everything perfect and better than others. Secondly, we must rise the standard of living of the lower classes by giving them the opportunity to receive good education in order to have less ignoramuses. And them we must take some measures to decrease the level of unemployment by giving jobs to the school and universities graduates. If we do that well, we ll save our country position and will remain to be prosperous successful state. 2. It goes without saying that education plays an important role in the life of every person in our modern society.
Our society has been again modified to the one with separate classes, where educated person belongs to higher class and non-educated or badly educated belongs to the lower. Speaking about education we cant but say that in our new developing society people do not pay attention any more to the fact of having the education but to the quality of it. The serious problem that we are very much concerned about is our youth. Today more and more young people refuse to study. Nowadays we suddenly note that having sent our children to school we cant be as calm as we were before. Why?
We expect form our schools to give our children impetus to study, positive experience that make them realize why they live and what is expected form them, their mission and importance. Instead of that our children have very bad influence in schools they study in. So it leads to dropouts, refusals of the young people to continue their study. The bad system of education influences the life of the whole nation. And this influence of course is not good. Many young people grow up as ignoramuses who are unable to do elementary work at the workplace.
That is why the USA is under thread to lose the front line in the international economy. So it is not only the social but also serious economic problem. The question why nothing is done? can be easily answered. In our society people do not agree with each other and have a big controversy over this problem. Some of them consider the education system to be good enough and see no need in any improvements.
I think that these people are selfish cause they pay attention only to their own life conditions and do not care about more poor people that realize that the standard of living in the country is rapidly decreasing. They forgot that it is not enough to win superiority but it is also important to keep it. And with such approach to the problems we will not be able to do that and very soon our country will loose the front line. I think that serious measures must be taken over this problem. We must give our children the impetus to study. First the administration must organize interesting competitions with grants with the students of other nations.
It will encourage our children to study. Also we should not keep on having individual systems and standards for learning. The USA has a low level of academic success in comparison to other nations, many of which took a decision on creating a national standard. For example, nations like China decided that every ninth grader should have on the same day the same lesson. This means that every student would have the same material as others on their grade level on any given day.
This helps to transit easier from a present grade to the next grade cause the teachers know what the students have studied. That prevented the teachers form teaching the topic that they have already taught in the previous year. We need a national program and determined time line that would give a very strong outline of what should be taught by a given time. Teacher must teach all the topics that are in program.
