All of these hospitals have a very complex system of transferring data, this fact led to the need of creation of a new system of sharing information. The new system is being created in simultaneous effort of the HP and the Scripps Health.
These two companies understood the need of the creation and started working on the creation of a clinical intelligence system. The primary aim of this system is to improve the safety and the clinical services in the Scripps facilities. HP is responsible for the following actions in this partnership: HP will provide the software and the hardware, which will be designed especially to suit the needs and the requirements of Scripps Health. These components will be of realistic value, they will not be very high priced and thus they will be commercially available. Another important invention that the HP will install in the new system is the HP NonStop servers. The work of these servers will be mainly aimed at the solving of such problems as the Scripps' Clinical Information System Disaster Recovery solution.
This system was one of the goals of providing a better quality of services, that the Scripps clinics strive towards. As it had been said by Jean Balgorsky, the vice president and the chief information officer: "One of our priorities over the past several years has been to invest in building an information system that improves patient care by enabling fast, secure access to patient information by and between our caregivers, enhancing patient safety measures, and ultimately making it possible to develop and maintain an electronic medical record for every Scripps patient. The Scripps Enterprise Data Archive system moves us closer to that goal and will enable us to gain greater insight and knowledge from our many data systems, thus enhancing our ability to deliver the highest quality healthcare in a safe, cost-effective, and socially responsible manner. " This wonderful system will be introduced into practice in a couple of phases. During the first step the Scripps clinical and financial data will be taken out of the systems, and put into the database system, which will be ready to use.
