My First Major League Baseball Game It was my first major league baseball game. This game is memorable because it is the first memory I have of my Dad, who is deceased. No wonder that all events of the game are stamped on my memory, as this is the very first memory I have of my father and I together The game took place in Atlanta at Fulton County Stadium, the year 1993, at night around 7: 00 p. m. The stadium was full of fans. The crack of the bat, good weather, the thrill of catching a home run, fans shouting and whistling, - everything was getting us closer to the heart and soul of baseball.
My Dad and I enjoyed the game. We were the active part of actions, as we tried to cheer up our favorite baseball team. It was so exciting to be there with my Dad and to know that we were the part of what other people usually watching on their television, when they are watching the game from home. The game was great. It was the year of Atlanta Braves endless success. Sanders, Blauser, and Gant were really great and showed their best results.
The fans were following what was going on in the field with bated breath. Probably, this was the moment when I understood the words my father often liked to repeat if you want to understand the heart and the soul of America, you should start from baseball. The impression was that the whole stadium became a single whole, an entity, one and indivisible, as people were watching the game holding their breath. Short bursts of actions, and long pauses made the game captivating, exciting, and challenging. Both my Dad and I wished the Atlanta Braves a victory, and it seemed somebody have heard our wishes - the Atlanta Braves ended up beating the NY Mets 4 - 0! This was really the most memorable experience in my life.
