There are laws of this universe that humankind do not understand the origins of. Humans are limited by their limited (but growing) knowledge. A God would be greater than the most unlimited force imaginable, for God would be omnipotent. God, if he exists, is perfect. Philosophers try to determine the indeterminable, such as whether or not God exists and what his ideas might entail. Whether or not this is something that is determinable is a better question to ask, considering the lack of limitations of God and the fact that evidence of God would lead to drastic constraints of humankind.

As philosophers ponder the many metaphysical questions of the universe, it becomes worth questioning, what are the ramifications of all humanity having definite answers to these questions? If God and his will were proven on earth it would undoubtedly have many global ramifications. God, if he exists, is perfect. He is an all-powerful being with perfect morals and perfect understanding.

If human beings disagree with a definite God, they must be incorrect. If we knew God, a lot in this universe would be clarified. Religious wars could end, for there would be a definite answer about what religion is most correct. Some (irrational skeptics) might still disagree with this God (or its existence), thus religious wars would ensue. The sacredness of the cause sanctifies every measure which can be made use of to promote it. (Hume, 90) If there is a God, he either created the universe or controls it. We would know that life exists for a reason and not due to some freak accident of nature.

The universe must therefore be organized. Perhaps DNA is the manner by which God works. Is there any coincidence that solar systems and atoms appear to be designed similarly? There would be a definite reason for every natural law- Gods reasons, which we might not be able to comprehend.

God doesnt act without reason. Gods existence would hopefully enlighten us. Perhaps some scholars would even strive to understand Gods designs to gain a better understanding of the way he works and thinks. Some might claim that God could be indifferent.

Would God create a universe or human reason if he didnt care about either? God obviously understood the effects of giving humans free will. If God exists, he created man therefore he must care in some way. If he cares, he must have some definition of morality. If human beings knew that God existed, they would strive to understand his morals (considering that humans today try to understand a God and morality that they dont know exists). If God allowed man to understand his morality, he would crush free will.

People would no longer be able to make decisions without thinking, I am being watched all the time by a perfect being that believes certain things, if I do not act in accordance with the ways he expects me to live, I am less than a perfect human and I might be upsetting God. A human who acts in a manner that he knows is upsetting to God cannot possibly live morally. God is perfect. Acts of goodness are no longer necessarily good, they are forced, while acts of evil are deterred by knowledge of the Almighty. Proof of God might demonstrate that the soul exists and that there is an afterlife. If God existence were to be disproved, there would be many other, much more different consequences.

A lack of God would mean that human beings, rational thought and life would all be freakish accidents of the universe. Human purpose would be whatever each human being defined his own purpose to be. No God would obviously mean that morality is only important to people who have scruples. The most conniving people would have the advantage on earth and be without worry of retribution in an afterlife.

Selfishness could easily be rationalized in all circumstances. People would choose friends according to what advantages and disadvantages the friends granted. Emotion would surely be for the weak because it leads to irrational action. Humans would strive to survive and enjoy their lives.

Gluttony would reign and life could lose real purpose. People would detach themselves as much as possible. Immortality might be a goal of humanity, but nothing is immortal and life could eventually become boring for anything that is. Other human beings would be the only possible moral authority (since human beings are the only rational beings that we know of). Reason would be impractical unless it served the self (such as making money, invention, or using it to take advantage of others). What would be the cause of the laws of the universe?

What caused matter (the universe) to exist? (What caused the big bang? ) It would be foolish to deny the possibility of God. If God is all-powerful, he could cloak his own existence. If there is a God, why would he not take credit for his work? There are many advantages to humanity not knowing if God exists.

People who wish to believe in God can indeed find reasons for believing in him (faith). People who wish to deny his existence are not irrational, just skeptical. The universe has order. Although it is chaotic, it does have some sort of organization. This is a clue to some sort of higher order. A truly omniscient God would understand the advantages of not revealing itself.

If God exists, free will is not a mistake for God cannot err, therefore God wishes humanity to be able to exercise their ability to make their own decisions. If God is uncertain, people would be able to make all decisions on their own. Morality would be the decision of the self. People who decide to find faith can find it (in God, morality, humanity or whatever they choose to find faith in). This allows good people to act good, while the bad will act according to their own morals (right or wrong). The morals that a person establishes for himself are a testament to his own goodness.

This fact raises important issues about Gods perfection. If God is perfect, he does no wrong. Therefore God cannot act in an improper manner, as it is not an option for a perfect being. If God does no wrong, he lacks the same free will that all humanity has the ability to exercise (although humans have to deal with the consequences of their wrongdoings.

Are humans who live morally better than God himself? After all, humans have the option to live immorally, so a moral human must be dedicated to his purpose of living a righteous life while a moral God cannot exercise any other options. Could God be above morality? This is inconceivable; double standards cannot exist for perfect rules. But if God is all-powerful, how can he be regulated (even by himself ex. Can God create a rock that he cannot lift)?

God has perfect thought if he exists for he must be omniscient. Perfect thought should not need to change, for nothing can be more perfect than perfection. Unless, of course, Gods thought evolves along with humanity and its knowledge. As long as events continue to occur in the universe, the universe changes (new people are born etc. ) Perhaps God is so great that he is capable of evolving in perfect sequence with the universe. It is obvious that God, himself does not directly interfere (regularly? ) in matters concerning humankind. If there is a God, he has determined that humans should indeed have free will (for he has bestowed it upon them) and he would not prove his existence because that would undermine the free will that they cherish.

Instead, if God exists, he has made the wise decision of wearing a cloak of opaque obscurity (and perhaps dropping hints for humanity about his ideas of morality) and allowing humankind to determine their own code of morality (right or wrong). It is unacceptable for humans to accept the morality that they are taught because then they would not be using their own reason. It is essential for humans to understand the idea of morality, determine their own individual morals, and if they are truly noble, to live according to their standards. Perhaps the most moral people do not believe in God at all, they live as they choose to live their lives but strive to live by perfect morals that they have established for themselves. Maybe they recognize the irrationality that is rooted in morality and benevolence but continue to act as tools of society. They have made the ultimate sacrifice and placed their own desires after the needs of others (they understand the suffering of others and wish to relieve this suffering for no other reason than the fact that gratifying others pleases them).

If God does exist, human uncertainty about his presence is essential to the decisions of the individual. This individuality and rationality are the two greatest traits of mankind. It simply makes sense that God would not want his existence known but rather the possibility of his being to exist in the minds of mankind. If God does not exist, he cannot verify his own existence.
