During the time period that we are in it so hard to get students motivated towards education or anything else for that matter. The rules and standards at the High School do not motivate us to work to the best of our ability. During my short time in Writing a Research Paper I have learned about a man named Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of needs. Maslows needs come in 5 steps Physiological needs which include hunger, thirst and stuff like that. His 2 nd step is Security need which means protection need for structure and so on. The 3 rd step is love and belongings which is the need to feel loved and like you belong.

The 4 th and most important need I feel is esteem the since of achievement respect and recognition. The 5 th and final step is Self Actualization which is the full mature person you are on the inside. I and others feel that the High School provides none of this except security. The Teachers has done an excellent job with that.

The since of belongings in the school has to change though we feel that we are just numbers in a computer. The administration can hire more teachers and cut back on the class size I know its not your guys is job but it will help. Teachers can also not pick out individual students and reprimand them in front of class or other students set them aside and talk to them. I know as you grow older your esteem is supposed to get hire but mine in the environment that is created in the high school has lowered. I feel that if you were to have teachers that care for there students and not make them feel like idiots then are esteem will continue to grow. I also feel the that if the school was not like a prison then are esteem towards school maybe higher.

I know this is a contradiction towards what I said earlier but I feel that its strongly secured from other people but us students should not have to feel like prisoners. The final step o Maslows Hierarchy is self actualization. The other students and I feel that we can reach are full potential in this environment you provide. If you were to limit the test and quizzes given in class and or monitor the test closely.

If the teachers also stayed after more and did other individual efforts with the students I think that would also benefit our maturity in our education. I hope you take my suggestions seriously and help to improve our education in the district. Bibliography:
