: In the first part of The Once and Future King, The Sword in Stone. most of the setting is at Sir Ectors castle. Near the castle is the Forest Savage. The forest is filled with dragons and other beasts, Robin Wood and his band of outcasts, and magicians. Here, Kay and Arthur have many adventures together.

This is also where Arthur meets his friend and tutor Merlyn. The Queen of Air and Darkness is set in Camelot where Arthur is king and also in Orkney where Morgause and her four sons Gawaine, Agravaine, Gaheris, and Gareth live. The Ill-Made Knight was set in many different places while Lancelot grew up and went on different quests. Some of the places include the castle of Berwick in France, Camelot, Queen Morgan le Fays castle, and Gramarye.

This part of the book deals mainly with Lancelot, his affairs with Queen Guenever, his friendship with King Arthur, and the many quests he went on. The Candle in the Wind takes place mostly in Camelot. Lancelot and Guenever shortly live at Joyous Guard though. The whole book was set in the Middle Ages.

These were times of kings, queens, chivalry, damsels in distress, and courageous quests. II: King Arthur is a noble and intelligent man. He doesnt believe in the theory that might is right and spends his life trying to do something about it. He is loyal and kind to his wife, Guenever, and is also a strong believer in justice. An example of this belief in justice is when he is willing to burn Queen Guenever alive because of the act of treason she committed while having an affair with Lancelot. His whole life he has tried to ignore and avoid the fact that Guenever and Lancelot are having an affair despite the warnings from Merlyn and the various accusations, such as from the Orkney Faction, and rumors.

His main focus is his round table which he works hard to improve but is never quite satisfied with. Arthur is an interesting person with a round personality. Throughout the book Arthurs views change as he grows up when it comes to the theory that might is right. Guenever and Lancelot help to show Arthurs loyalty and justice. III: The main conflict of The Once and Future King is good vs. evil.

The good is Arthurs round table, the Quest for the Holy Grail, and everything else that stands for justice and equality. The main evil is might. Morgause is another evil along with Mordred. This conflict is both internal and external. The exposition is when Arthur is growing up, going on adventures, and learning from Merlyn. The quest for the Holy Grail is the climax of the entire book.

All of the events leading up to that are the changes in the publics view about might being right. They finally begin to realize that you cant just go around killing everyone without a reason or any type of justice. (I dont like this sentence) This is all the rising action. The falling action are the events after the discovery of the Holy Grail such as Lancelot and Guenever being discovered together in the queens chamber, Queen Guenever almost getting burned alive, but rescued by Lancelot just in time, and Mordred taking over the castle while Arthur and Sir Gawaine are trying to defeat the banished Lancelot. This story comes to an end when Arthur finds out that Mordred had told everyone that he and Gawaine are dead and discovers Mordred's engagement with Guenever against the queens will. As a tired, old king, he sits in his tent abd tells his page, Thomas, to go home and tell everyone of King Arthur, the real story about the round table, and his lifes accomplishments.

IV: The style that TH White writes in is somewhat poetic in his discription's of people, places, and different feelings. He makes you feel as if you have really lived in that time period. TH White uses very discriptive language so that you are able to picture whatever it is he is describing. The Once and Future King is written from third-person omniscient point of view so that you are able to get the whole story and not just the views of one character. V: The theme of this book is that might is not right and using force to get what you want is not the way to do things. Brains and morals are much more important than how well you can fight and your personal status.
