First prepare the sauce, then cook the noodles and layer all your ingredients and then bake. The first step in making delicious lasagna is preparing the sauce.
Take one pound of hamburger meat and cook it over medium heat in a ten- inch skillet. Then drain the grease. Next add six-teen ounces of tomato sauce and four ounces of tomato paste. After you have done this, you are ready to add your seasonings.
Take two basil leafs, one half teaspoon of Italian seasoning and one half teaspoon of oregano and add to sauce. Reduce heat and simmer thirty minuets. The second step is cooking the noodles. Take a five- quart pan and fill two inches from the top with water.
Cook over high heat till water comes to a full boil; add one box of lasagna noodles and two tablespoons of olive oil. Cook for ten minuets stirring occasionally. Drain water over sink. The third step is layering the ingredients.
Get a nine- inch baking pan; cover the bottom of the pan with a thin layer of tomato sauce. Then make one layer with the noodles being careful not to tear them. Now for the next layer you take mozzarella, ricotta and cottage cheese and sprinkle a thin layer of each. Repeat last three steps till all ingredients are gone and baking pan is full. The final step is baking the lasagna.
Preheat the oven to four hundred and twenty five degrees. Now cook the lasagna four one hour. Remove the lasagna from the oven and let sit for fifteen minuets before serving.
