Experimental Science In this research we are going to give the narrative of a scientific experiment in order to get some insights on how the scientists do their job. We are going to conduct one scientific experiment in order to have the idea of the experimental science in the way it is done by the masters of the subject. For our experiment we take: a clear (transparent) drinking glass; a room thermometer (usually measures degrees from less than 0 degrees F to more than 100 degrees F); glasses with water of three different temperatures: hot, medium and cold water. The source of water used is the same: water from a sink, heated by heater, and frozen in refrigerator, and kitchen temperature glass; a small supply of anti-acid tablets, such as Alka-Seltzer, etc. ; a timing device: digital watch; a black marker.

Than we place a small dot at the center of the bottom (outside) of the glass with the black marker. Start by making the smallest dot possible with the marker. Fill the glass nearly full with water and look down, through the water, at the bottom of the glass. We are able to see the dot through the water. We pour out a little water so the amount of water in the glass is about 2 / 3 full. The water in our glass at this moment is room temperature, therefore we proceed when we have ready access to cold and hot water.

Than we place the thermometer in the water and record the temperature. Notice the time on the clock / watch and drop one tablet in the glass of water. Look down through the fizz and record how long it takes before you can clearly see the dot on the underside of the bottom of the glass. Repeat the same procedure (a, b, and c above) with both cold and hot water. After doing this procedure we came to such measures (seconds): cold- 38, hot- 12, out-of-tap water- 21. Hypothesis: In our case we could probably assume that the time period for being able to clearly see the dot on the underside of the bottom of the glass vol vary according to the changes in experiment variable with some consistency.

In our case there were such controls: room temperature = 55, lighting was 100 W lamp, evening time of day, humidity = normal, table approximately 10 squared feet, gear glasses for each kind of water, the same water from the sink, but with different temperature, Alka-Seller Aspirin tablets. The experimental variables for the three experiments were as follows: water was of different temperatures in each case: Hot, Cold and Room temperature. The dependent variables for the three experiments were consequently the time measures of: 12, 38, 21 seconds correspondingly. Conclusions: Taking into account all the initial data and the results of the experiment we may state that the data that was aquired from the experiment fits the hypothesis. It is actually necessary to mention that the dependent variables depend upon the experimental variable in our case the time was dependent upon the temperature of water used for the experiment. What we can learn from this scientific experiment is the fact that the higher is the temperature of the water used to see through it, the less time it takes to see the dot in the glass, so the tablet is dissolved.

Therefore Alka Seltzer Aspirin tablets dissolve faster in hot temperature than they do as the temperature decrease.
