Career Research Decision-making process is our fellow-traveler. Making correct plans or job-related decisions can be extremely difficult. The recent decision I have made affecting my job is to choose a career in Finance, namely, to become a Financial Analyst. It was quite a difficult process when I had to choose the aim and determine the way I need to act for realization of my aim.
This process embraces correlation of goals, values of realization, assessments and motives, to mention a few. First of all, I had to identify the job-related decision to be made. I realized the necessity of choosing a career and understood what exactly I had to decide. With regard to my recent self assessment tests, I realized the importance of my future career opportunities. I understood that I need to choose my future career in order to achieve self-realization in society. I started to think over what kind of job I like.
As far as you know, Im good in Mathematics and Analysis. The opportunities for advancement in the United States are equal for everybody, thats why I wanted to start my career in Finance. So, I identified my decision as finding out future possibilities for my future career in finance sector. The stage of self assessment helps to discover your personal characteristics, values, skills and interests. First of all, I started to think what I am interested in. The career in finance sector proposes you a wide variety of choice and more than sixty job fields, thats why it was very important to bring into correlation my skills and interests with numerous Finance proposals.
It includes plenty of those like investment analysis and banking, corporate finance, private and government industry, from leadership vacancies to entry-level roles. In my opinion, the career of Financial Analyst could give me the best fit. The position of Financial Analyst deals with gathering financial information, analysis and recommendation to clients. This job will need skills in financial planning and investment (the priorities in my future Finance Major). I will need knowledge in insurance, tax laws, investments, financial planning to provide the company with professional consultations. My work will include a primary consultation, working out the financial investment plan, selecting and recommending necessary investments, etc.
Work with customers is the most important part of my future work. The position of Financial Analysts requires having at least a bachelors degree in Finance. Although the majority of companies do not require a specific field of study, I plan to choose another two marketing courses to enhance my career advancement. I will choose the course of Export Marketing Strategies and Marketing Research.
I consider that these courses are able to give me a competitive advantage in my specific career. The Marketing Research course will help me to develop investment and financial plans for the company in more professional way. When I have to prepare a financial plan, Ill need to advise the most preferable variant for companys future investments. Export Marketing Strategies course will teach the specifics of international trade that will be an additional plus in my future career. It will help me to be more professional in import and export transactions to work for both local and international offices of my future employee.
The skills in international trade will help me in development of business and investment plans. Ill be able to manage the processes of coordination of documents, financial planning of investments, organizing of projections, etc. Another important point is work with customers. After my studies Ill have skills of management, good communicative, organizational and management skills as well. These courses will merge my theoretical base into a functional platform for the practice of financial planning and investment. The analysis of economical indexes, preparation of analytical documentation will also help me in my future career.
Ill be able to plan the manufacture processes, to calculate the advantages and financial risks. The financial planning and budgeting on separate projects, analysis of effectiveness in financial and economic activity of the enterprise will also be the additional plus. Ill be able to buy and sell numerous financial products (insurance, mutual funds, etc), to prepare wills or taxes as well. Giving personal consultations and seminars on investments and financial planning will attract the potential customers and enlarge my customer base. The detail orientation and ability to work both in team and as an individual will be crucial to my future success.
There are two companies Id like to work as a Financial Analyst: ATMI and Solomonedwardsgroup. LLC. Solomonedwardsgroup. LLC is up and coming Atlanta organization. The responsibilities of Financial Analyst for this company will be as follows: - To develop understanding of overall functioning of JDE system; - To participate on Research and Development Project Teams as financial representative; - To perform queries and coordinate development of reporting requirements with IT personnel; - To build budget and forecast processes; - To provide accounting support and to perform monthly spending reviews; - To coordinate and participate in the annual budget process, to mention a few. The company requires Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, CMA, CPA, MBA or candidacy for one or more, strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, basic understanding of Sarbanes Oxley 404 impact to financial transactions, processes, reporting and auditing.

Besides, Financial Analyst should be aware of all processes impacting inventory, including part number creation and approvals, inventory flows and RMA and Material Review Board processes. The specialist should drive processes improvement and efficiency gains throughout the organization. So, with regards to my career-choosing decision, I conducted the research to search for alternative opportunities and peculiarities of my final career decision.
I started to think about the alternative career opportunities. Evidently, career in Finance is the only preferable type of career. I dont have any interest in other career opportunities; moreover, I like the dynamic and challenging Finance field. If Financial Analyst shows experience, outstanding managerial skills, ability to learn, he can be easily promoted. Besides, Financial Analysts job is rewarded with a good salary and possibility to earn additional bonuses. I analyzed the information I gathered from various sources and understood that the career of a Financial Analyst is my final choice.
