Personal Statement For Medical School I have chosen a career in medical care because it is one of the most humane professions. I have always wanted to be someone, who could change the world, make it a better place for as many people as possible. I researched the demand for health care specialists and found that the need for the health care specialists is great: both at this moment, and I am sure will be in the future. Health care fields are static in a sense that they will always be needed, and dynamic in a sense that there is an ever-going evolution in the provision patient care. Every new patient is a separate case, which needs to be specially treated. Moreover, health care is an urgent service patients often need an immediate help.
The main qualities a good doctor needs are patience, ability to sympathize, great desire to study, to improve skills, calmness, and attentiveness. The degree I am applying to receive is essential for me to function in different management roles, move across employment settings, and have the flexibility to change positions within nursing. Being a doctor, unlike many other professions, has a variety of educational paths. My personal success means having a career, which would allow me to single-handedly provide for my own needs. People skills, leadership ability, strong work ethics, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to work well as a team player are the main qualities every doctor needs.
Medical career is very stimulating to me, because it provides much job security and opportunities. Having a career in health care, I hope, will be my vehicle for supporting myself. Once I have defined my career goals and the level of education I wanted, the next step would be to match my needs with the offerings and characteristics of the specific programs. I will take into consideration the programs accreditation status; faculty qualifications in terms of research, teaching, and practice; and the resources of the school of nursing and of the college, computer services, and statistical consultants and have decided to continue my education there. Medical school programs offer resources, such as test-taking skills, study skills, and time-management workshops, as well as assistance with academic problems. I should probably take advantage of available support services and seek out resources for areas in which I am weak.
I suppose, however, that any academic support services need to be complemented by personal support, which I already have. With a firm commitment to pursuing advanced education, a clear choice of a nursing program to meet my goals, and support from others, I am sure that I will be successful in returning to school. Sometimes I am concerned about the demands of school combined with existing responsibilities and I begin by identifying strategies for incorporating classes and study time into my present schedule. For me personally, satisfaction gained from education compensates me more than any added stress. I am sure that I can cope effectively with the demands of advanced education. I am rather motivated and committed to pursuing my degree, and I am sure that I will succeed.
I have a great desire to enter the medical school. My personal attitude towards this matter will help me to overcome all the possible difficulties I could be faced with. Nursing experience that I have will be a great support to me in my studies. At the end I would like to add that doctors could improve global health care in general.
The level of health care in many countries around the globe is not satisfactory at all. Therefore, it is important to improve not only the US level of Health Care, but the global one as well.
