Staying focus towards ones professional ambitions, which is extremely important in journalism, was initially developed through student-instructor interaction, including conflict resolutions, analysis of information and critical thinking. Overconcentration on accomplishing stated professional goals could logically result in psychological burnout and consequent apathy to chosen field. Many students experience this particular problem, having failed a class or abandoning motivation to studying. Being beneficial for all the students as a part of general academic program, the course stimulates the future journalists mind and critical thinking, as well as shapes specific psychology needed to succeed in the profession. From the personal point of view, case studies and various projects are highly valuable in terms of bringing real practical experience in analysis of contemporary media trends and the media-society interaction. English Literature Review became a class of positive experience, needed mainly for realization of personal attitudes towards various issues, namely religion and love, poverty and human beauty, etc.
Photography class was introduced to students as one of the core courses for future journalists; however, I would consider it to be an art appreciation class, which had nothing to do with journalism, though emphasized an impact of image on readers mind. Although the academic program in journalism field is thorough and methodologically complete, many students would appreciate the introduction of specialized electronic journalism courses as well as an overall review of electronic journalism and its role in contemporary media.
