According to Britannica Encyclopedia, French Revolution covers years from 1789 and 1799 m during which the democrats and republicans overthrew the absolute monarchy and the Roman Catholic Church was forced to undergo major changes. French Revolution put an end to an ancient regime and has become a turning point in the European history. French Revolution has changed the situation from absolutism to the citizenry. The French Republican ideals were carried abroad by Napoleon (the Napoleonic Wars) followed by the Batavian Republic (the Netherlands, 1795) and the Helvetica Republic (Switzerland, 1798). Both countries liquidated feudalism and improved social conditions of working classes. Pan-European revolutions werent local wars. These revolutions represented a certain period of the great European events.

In contrast to the Great French Revolution of 1789 - 1815 the driving forces of pan-European revolutions werent limited with short area of one country or even one continent. Moreover, the countries that became the arena of pan-European Revolutions of 1848 - 1850 didnt cause the revolution by themselves. The necessary prerequisites for pan-European Revolutions were created by political and social situation in the world. As regards French Revolution, it diminished the absolute power of monarchy Bossuet and De Maistre so strongly believed in.
