PTA Admission Essay In this essay I want to explain why do I want to be admitted into the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. I want to start from the very beginning and explain my attitude to PTA Admission Essay. Physical therapy is planning, organization, and implementation of programs for people is whose ability to function impaired or threatened by disease or injury. It is constantly growing, changing and very perspective care field.

That is why it requires high-qualified practitioners who can adapt to change and are socialized into life-long learning. Commonly, physical therapist pays attention to pulmonary, cardiovascular systems and neuromuscular systems. Therapy usually includes evaluation of the system and selection and application of appropriate therapeutic procedures to maintain, improve and restore these functions. The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is a wonderful tutorial program for graduated students. It prepares students to provide physical therapy services (of course, only under the supervision of qualified physical therapist). Therapy services are developed by the physical therapist and usually include preparing treatment area and patient, tuning and preparing of special equipment.

Students have to implement and modify the treatment program in the strict accordance with the plan of care. I think that it is a well-known fact that the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education accredits Physical Therapist Assistant Program. It was on e of the first programs in the nation, which developed and received accreditation. The Physical Therapist Assistant Program accounts a responsibility for training well-qualified specialists. It offers students a perfect opportunity to develop necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to attain an AAS Degree, Physical Therapist Assistant.

Now, I think, you can understand why Physical Therapist Assistant Program is so attractive to me. It is not only a great opportunity to help people and to help the society in meeting the dynamic physical therapy needs of the community but it is also a right way to increase the quality of existing physical therapy services. I also think that it is a good choice because acceptance into the program will help me to meet my career goals. Now Ill try to explain my point of view. I am informed that graduates can take the licensing examination in Illinois and other states (whenever physical therapist assistants to be licensed is required). It suits me well.

And what about occupation? According to the statistic therapist assistants and aides held about 27, 000 jobs in 2002 year. If we take a closer look at the places where therapist assistants works we can see that more than 30 percent of jobs for assistants and aides were in hospitals, 23 percent were connected with other health practitioners (which includes offices of occupational therapists) and 18 percent were involved in nursing care facilities. Some therapist assistants also work in home healthcare services, individual and family services, community care facilities for the elderly State government agencies, etc.

So the variety of work places is great and suggests me wide range of employment opportunities. It is expected that demand for therapist assistants and aides will grow much through 2012. I made such conclusion after considering such facts as aging population and aging of baby-boom generation. Earnings also are just marvelous because therapist assistants earn on average $ 31, 000 annually. Graduate student can only dream about such chance to improve career goals. Many people are concerned with rising of healthcare costs that is why they prefer to ask therapist assistants for help.

I know that I have all required qualities for this job and more importantly I have desire to work for people and with people. That is why I want to be admitted into the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
