Field Project In this field project we are going to investigate an interview that had been taken from a teacher of a regular highschool that is occupied in a not totally successful neighbourhood of New York. The main task is to explore questions of access, inequality and other issues that can be taken from the interview presented. The narrative of the interview is provided below and we are going to compare the facts and issues that are presented in the interview to the existing concepts and standpoints. Setting.

The interview took place in a classroom of the school that the teacher, whose name is Dale Gerbino, currently is teaching his classes on a regular basis. This is the Sheldon Broker School, P. S. 135, 648 Linden Blvd. , Brooklyn, New York, 11203. The classes that are taught by the interviewee are educational program classes of Early Childhood Education. But the teacher actually thinks that even though this process of teaching the category of students is kind of hard it is also very rewarding.

This is because it is very nice to see the improvement in the personalities of such kids along the educational process. The overall recommendations that the teacher gives for those that may be involved in the process are to be patient and sympathetic and the improvement will come along. Analysis. Personally I agree with Dale Gerbino in his statements concerning the educational process for the kids from unsuccessful families due to various reasons. His book strongly stresses the importance of teacher / student interaction. He strongly urges teachers to get to know their students outside of the classroom, as well as in it. He did teach in a very gang prominent area of Chicago.

First of all it is necessary to make kids interested in getting better education themselves. For example to make some kinds of rewards for those getting better grades, for example new clothes or uniform for outstanding performance. Another important aspect of quality education is involvement of kids in various kinds of sports. The kid that has interest in any particular kind of sport has less time and chance to get involved in some inappropriate activities. Of course this is the question of funding and this probably needs to be resolved by the state officials. I think this would be cheaper anyway in the long term to have better educated and interested kids than those that will choose some other way of living and making trouble for the rest of the society.
