Physical fitness for youth and adults According to A Comprehensive Lifestyle Approach: physical fitness is the body's ability to function efficiently and effectively. It consists of health-related physical fitness and skill-related physical fitness, which have at least eleven different components, each of which contributes to total quality of life. Physical fitness also includes metabolic fitness. Physical fitness is associated with a person's ability to work effectively, to enjoy leisure time, to be healthy, to resist hypo kinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations. It is related to but different from health, wellness, and the psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual components of fitness. Although the development of physical fitness is the result of many things, optimal physical fitness is not possible without regular exercise.

Good health, fitness and healthy lifestyles are important for people of all age. Physical fitness has many advantages. Lets try to develop a concept of health promotion for physical fitness. First of all we need facts and statistics.

Adolescents and young adults, both male and female, benefit from physical activity. (Adolescents and Young Adults) And really so it is. There are three levels of prevention of health care. Secondary prevention detects and treats problems in their early stages. It keeps problems from causing serious or long -term effects or from affecting others. It identifies risks or hazards and modifies, removes, or treats them before a problem becomes more serious. Secondary prevention is implemented after a problem has begun, but before signs and symptoms appear.

It targets populations that have risk factors in common. Tertiary prevention limits further negative effects from a problem. It keeps existing roles from getting worse. It alleviates the effects of disease and injury and restores individuals to their optimal level of functioning. Tertiary prevention is implemented after a disease or injury has occurred.

It targets populations who have experienced disease or injury. I want to outline that physical activity is not only necessary thing but also a thing of vital importance. As statistic states Nearly half of American youths aged 12 - 21 years are not vigorously active on a regular basis. About 14 percent of young people report no recent physical activity. Inactivity is more common among females (14 %) than males (7 %) and among black females (21 %) than white females (12 %).

Participation in all types of physical activity declines strikingly as age or grade in school increases. Only 19 percent of all high school students are physically active for 20 minutes or more, five days a week, in physical education classes. S. adults do not get enough physical activity for health benefits (at least 30 minutes a day on 5 or more days a week); 47 % of adults ages 65 to 74 are inactive; 51 % of people with a disability are inactive. First of all it helps to build and maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints and prevent human body from premature ageing. In the second place it helps to control weight, build lean muscle, and reduce fat. It saves our natural energy. Thirdly it prevents and delays the development of high blood pressure and helps reduce blood pressure in some adolescents with hypertension. And that is not everything; as for me physical activity is a perfect way for controlling my body. When you are at full control of your own body and your moves it is incomparable feeling.

Some people think that physical fitness is not so important as physical health but they are wrong. Yes, physical fitness is not the same as physical health. A man can have and ideal physical fitness from birth. But if he will ignore physical activity his perfect health soon will come to naught. Whether we will blame it on TV, video games, or lack of "everyone plays" sports, the bottom line is that people are exercising less and weighing more. Unfit teens grow into unfit adults, and then we found ourselves in the hospital with a wide range of health problems including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and some cancers.
