We all remember the public hullabaloo, associated with biologists attempt to legalize the practice of human cloning in America.
The Medias would not stop raving about it as something utterly immoral for weeks. Therefore, it is Australia and not America that it is now leading the scientific progress, in this respect. This is why only very naive people can truly believe that it is just the matter of very short time, before we will be able to fill up our cars tanks with water, instead of gas, and to still be able to drive around. If we look at the pace of scientific progress in last fifty years, it will appear that, within this period of time, not a single scientific breakthrough of universal magnitude was being accomplished, whereas during the time of Industrial revolution, such breakthroughs were popping up every 2 - 3 years. It is only informational technologies, associated with the rise of Internet, that were able to advance rapidly. However, 70 % of Internet traffic is related to promotion of pornography.
We cannot deny the fact that being able to watch pornographic movies is essential to the well-being of post-industrial individual, but it is doubtful of whether it can be associated with such individuals ability to discover new sources of energy. It is understood that lifting ban on offshore drilling will not solve Americas dependency on oil, in the long run. However, having limited reserves of oil is better then not having such reserves at all. Let us not forget that the only reason why American economy still functions, despite the recession, is because U. S.
dollar is only the acceptable currency on worlds market of oil. If it was not up to this fact, American money would not be even worthy of paper, upon which they are printed, because they do not reflect any physical value since 1971, when Federal Reserve denied ordinary citizens their right to exchange dollars for gold. This is the reason why Saudi Arabia, for example, does not want to be paid in dollars for exporting oil to America anymore, but in American tanks and planes. Therefore, it is the matter of crucial importance for American economy that other countries do not switch to Euro, as oil currency, because if this happens, America will become engulfed by social chaos, even sooner then expected. The only way to prevent America turning into the battleground of war of everybody against everybody (Diversity makes us stronger! ) in very near future, it is to lessen Americas dependency on foreign oil.
In its turn, this could only be done by lifting 1981 ban on offshore drilling. Therefore, we can only cheer the fact that the common sense was able to prevail in the Senate and that the ban on offshore drilling was lifted on September 24, 2008. Those authors who continue to repeat in their articles that oil companies should not be allowed to drill in offshore areas, are best described as such who had completely lost their touch with reality, despite the fact that these articles often contain valid suggestions. For example, when in his article More Offshore Drilling is Not the Answer, James Werrell says that: Increased domestic drilling would have little, if any, immediate effect on the cost of a barrel of oil or of gas at the pump (Werrell, 2008), we can only agree with him. Nevertheless, author clearly misunderstands that allowing offshore drilling is not intended to reduce the price of gas at the pump, but to prevent Americas economy from collapsing like stack of cards.
The only reason why America was experiencing an economic boom, since the end of WWII until seventies, is because Federal Reserves practice of printing green paper in unlimited numbers, was encouraging citizens to buy more, which in its turn, stimulated production. However, the process of manufacturing directly relates to peoples willingness to work hard. Given the fact that, since the beginning of eighties, the number of Americans, preoccupied with celebration of their ethnic uniqueness, while relying on welfare payments, as only the source of income, began increasing in geometrical progression, there are appears to be less and less objective reasons for American economy to retain its vitality. However, it is only now that we begin to deal with the consequences of allowing the agents of foreign influence to design social policies in America. These agents are known for their ability to change masks: Commies, Liberals, Environmentalists These hooked-nosed flower children only have one agenda to enjoy a good living, at the expense of ordinary Americans being spiritually poisoned, because only then can they indulge in shady financial activities, without the fear of punishment. It is quite probable that the reason they were trying to convince us that offshore drilling should not ever be allowed is because they did not want their luxury mansions at oceans shore to be threatened by possible oil spills.
As practice shows, they always strive to come up with their valuable opinions, when making of important political or economic decisions is concerned. After having extorted millions and millions of dollars from manufacturers of aerosol sprays, during ozone holes craze, and after having done the same to Swiss banks, for helping Nazis to commit Holocaust, they tried to extort a fee from owners of American oil companies, in exchange for their willingness to reconsider their position, in regards to lifting the ban. Given the fact that the ban was being lifted sooner then expected, environmentalists are now likely to resort to another form of extortionist sending Green Peace fleet into the areas where drilling is to take place, in order to intimidate the owners of American oil companies, who happened to love money just as much as environmentalists.
