Final Project (the original paper contains pictures Ive sent it to administrator, she will be able to forward it to you via email) (1) When it comes to defining the very essence of different fashion trends, throughout the history, many fashion experts fail to understand that these trends actually reflect peoples existential mode, associated with a particular historical era. Therefore, our analysis of current fashion trends and our forecast, in regards to these trends in 2009, are going to be closely related to our understanding of what the concept of post-industrial era stands for. Moreover, we will have to define the metaphysical foundation, upon which the very concept of fashion is based, and to figure out the driving force behind the process of its continuous evolvement. Let us begin from afar. When we take a close look at the history of fashion, it will appear that it was being rid of its purely practical subtleties long time ago, while becoming the channel for people to express their aesthetic inclinations. It will also appear that the development of fashion styles cannot be discussed outside of Western civilization, as whole.

For example, in Africa, the grass skirt remained fully fashionable clothing for both, men and women, throughout the millennia, without any significant modifications being applied to it, during this time. It is not by the pure coincidence that French designers continue to dictate fashion trends, throughout the world, even today. Peoples ability to derive an esthetic pleasure from being associated with a particular style of fashion, corresponds to their ability to operate with abstract categories, which in its turn, corresponds to the rate of their IQ. Only people with IQ rate higher then average possess creativeness, which is absolutely necessary, within a context of designing new lines of clothing. This is why it is specifically White people, who besides pushing forward cultural and technological progress were also able to utilize their idealistic worldview as driving motif for designing new lines of clothing. In fact, European fashion continues to be associated with civilization, throughout the world, which is why even the presidents of such countries as Ivory Coast or Papua New Guinea wear European suits, while appearing in public on official occasions.

Thus, it is important to understand that fashion trends actually provide us with the insight on subconscious anxieties, on the part of Whites. It is not a secret that White race, as whole, is continuously loosing its existential vitality. For example, at the beginning of 20 th century, Whites constituted 35 % of worlds population, whereas today, they only constitute 5 % of it. Western countries are being invaded by the hordes of illegal immigrants from Third World, as we speak, resulting in many Whites being afraid to go out on the street, after it gets dark, even in their own neighbourhoods. At the beginning of 20 th century, when Whites were the undisputed masters of the world, they possessed intelligence, strength and physical beauty - nowadays they only retain their intelligence. In its turn, this causes the latest fashion styles being strongly associated with metaphysical decadence.

This decadence is being expressed through designers attempts to make their lines of closing appealing to peoples subconscious expectations of some revolutionary changes in the world (shoulder pads, military style) and to customers decadent desire to perceive bodily inadequateness as being stylish (top models look like if they were just being released from Auschwitz). In the next part of this paper, we will analyse fashion trends of last 5 - 10 years, because it will allow us to substantiate the validity of earlier statement. (2) It is needless to say that clothing is expected to appeal to peoples sense of esthetic finesse. This sense is has objective properties normal people are simply incapable to think of ugliness, which derives out of biological inadequateness (unnatural skinniness of fashion models, for example) as being stylish. This is the reason why fashion style associated with Renaissance, for example, favoured slightly plump women. At the time when White people were pursuing the policy of geopolitical expansion; they related the concept of female beauty to womens biological fertility.

Extra skinny women were being considered as unattractive, simply because they would not be able to provide their husbands with healthy offspring. However, in time of post-modern, when Whites are being spiritually corrupted from within, the ideals of female beauty began to be strongly associated with biological unnaturalness. The realities of modern times imply the absence of strongly defined gender differentiation, which is why the latest trends in womens fashion design strive to accentuate female manliness, whereas mens fashion designers expect their male models to be perceived as overly sensitive individuals, during the course of fashion shows. This is the classical indication of perceptional decadence, on the part of majority of todays fashion designers. When we look at the lines of closing, presented by such famous designers as Giorgio Armani, Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy, Tommy Hilfiger, Yves Saint-Laurent and Nina Ricci, during the course of recent years, it will appear that the most prominent elements of their design often match each other. In womens line of closing, these elements are as follows: 1) The excessive use of see-through materials, 2) Shoulder pads (although their shape vary significantly), 3) Increasing popularity of pants, as part of womens business suits, 4) Gothic motives (the dominance of dark colours, accentuated paleness of the skin, the excessive use of cosmetics to enlarge visual perception of eyes). 5) High-heel shoes, which can be confused with torture devices, because of the sheer length of heels. 6) Variability of ethnic motives (for those women who celebrate ethnic uniqueness, while being unable to celebrate their own physical attractiveness). 7) Berets (to emphasize sophistication).

These elements are meant to accentuate womens manliness and intellectual sophistication as something closely associated with sex appeal. As we have mentioned earlier, mens line of closing from the same designers, is best described by designers strive to represent men as highly emotional beings, with the mean of emphasising mens boyishness and emotional fragility, whenever is possible. Also, in recent years, many designers have realized a commercial potential of military style clothing, which continues to attract psychologically adequate men more and more, especially given the fact that they are being indoctrinated to think of militarism as evil, ever since their time in elementary school. Very often, we get to see Emo and military styles being fused together in very whimsical manner. Thus, we can identify the following elements of mens fashion in recent years: 1) Disproportional length of sleeves (usually too short), which is meant to make men appearing as shy and emotionally insecure. 2) Tight, high-waisted trousers of disproportional length, which are also meant to give men a boyish look. 3) Shiny fabrics in mens suits. 4) The oversized GI woven sweaters worn by mommas boy type of men.

When we compare mens and womens last fashions, we will be able to find a lot of similarities between them. The most prominent of them is the fact that designers strive to adjust their line of clothing to the existential mode of an individual; who is expected to wear it, and not the other way around, as it used to be the case, even as recent back as fifty years ago. For example, the concept of mens business suit can no longer be thought of as something that implies traditional values. Nowadays, peoples individuality is being considered as such that has value in itself, and the fashion designers role consists of enabling people to manifest their individuality, even if such manifestation assaults viewers sense of good taste. However, within a context of post-industrial living, it is simply impossible for the individual to posses strong individuality and still to be able to gain social prominence, because it is exactly the peoples ability to conform to external circumstances that defines their chances of social advancement in modern world. It only takes one look at modern politicians, for example, to realize there is no much of a difference between them, even though that they claim to have different political agenda: the same politically-correct rhetoric, the same standard smiles, the same ability to lie in most convincing manner.

Therefore, todays fashion trends are meant to conceal the fact that people who like to dress fashionably, do not posses prominent psychological features that would allow them to gain other peoples respect, regardless of what they wear, as it used to be the case, before the dogma of neo-Liberalism started to destroy the integrity of Western civilization. Given the fact that Western societies continue to undergo the process of racial marginalization, the modern fashion trends are being increasingly associated with their ability to shock rather then to please. Marginalized population is only being concerned about satisfying its anomalistic instincts, which is why many Hollywood movies that do not contain any aesthetic or intellectual value, end up being a smashing commercial success, simply because they feature enough graphic violence and sex. The same applies to modern fashion it is being largely deprived of its functional properties and is being increasingly used to shock spectators, whose sense esthetic finesse has degraded beyond the point of recovery. It is not by pure accident that modern fashion strives to emphasize peoples sensuality and decadent sophistication; because this is about all they have left, while being deprived of physical strength and beauty, thanks to self-appointed guardians of public morality, who try to convince citizens that intellectual sanity and physical health, is something to be ashamed of. (3) It is a well-known fact that fashion design generally falls in two categories: low and high.

The gap between these two categories continues to widen, as time goes by. haute couture designers strive to maintain exclusivity of their clothing collections that are being presented to public, during the course of annual fashion shows; however, they appear to increasingly rely on jacking up prices, as the ultimate mean of accomplishing it. At the same time, pret-a-porter designers seem to be preoccupied with making their lines of clothing more democratic, in price-wise sense of this word, and to increase their unisex appeal. However, both high and low fashion designers are dealing with the same problem the lack of creativity, on their part. This is the reason why Eastern ethnic motifs are now being incorporated in fashion design on a progressive scale. In her article Men's Fashion for Spring 2009, Gill Hart suggests that trends in 2009 mens fashion will be even less euro-centric then in previous years: From Etros silks and prints with an Asian twist to Giorgio Armani's take on everything Eastern, in sleek silks and unstructured tailoring, with scarves as sashes instead of belts.

Shirts are softer, pants are sloppier and distinctly Asian in style, and colours reflect the rich flavours of the Orient (Hart, 2008). In womens fashion, however, the eastern exotic motifs have been exploited long ago, which is why in winter / fall of 2009 designers will most likely to continue making womens clothing being associated with bohemian spirit. In other words, womens fashion of 2009 is most likely to become even less practical and more shocking, which corresponds to the ideas expressed in first part of this paper. In its turn, this confirms our earlier statement that trends in fashion reflect surrounding socio-political reality. Given the fact that the number of mosques in London and Paris, will soon over-exceed the number of churches, it comes as no surprise that more and more people are being attracted to eastern exotic. The same process was taking place in Roman Empire, prior to its downfall the convergence of Asiatic elements into Roman society and the fact that Romans were being gradually deprived of their biological vitality, resulted in situation when even White Roman aristocracy began to be fascinated with eastern exotic, which eventually caused it to adopt Christianity, with the fate of Roman empire being effectively sealed, as a result.

Given the fact that Romans at the time were being subjected to racial mixing, they subconsciously strived to retain their biological purity by dying their hair. What do we see today? Exactly the same behavioural pattern, on the part of ever-increasing number of people, throughout the world, regardless of their racial affiliation. The peroxide blond hair will become even more popular in 2009, within a context of both: mens and womens fashion. Let us to come up with more detailed forecast, as to what going to be the main fashion trends in fall / winter of 2009. First of all, it is most likely that bohemian and ethnic motifs will cease to be fused together in the same designers collection, as it used to be the case in previous years.

However, they will continue to be exploited. Given the fact that men in Western countries continuously risk the chances of being charged with racism, sexism and male chauvinism, simply because they happen to have penises, they will be increasingly tempted to buy fashionable clothing, especially if it incorporates multicultural motifs, as the way to express their open mindedness. In addition, we predict that gangsta fashion style (baseball hats worn backwards, loose pants, fake golden chains around the neck) will become a mainstream fashion in 2009. In more distant future, this style will push designers, specializing in military style, out of their share of the market; because it is specifically gangsta style, which is going to be increasingly associated with masculine values. Womens fashion of 2009 is going to be defined by following trends: 1) Very short or very long skirts, with total absence of feminine decorative elements. 2) The popularity of berets, among White women who strive to pose as progressive intellectuals, will continue to grow. 3) Worn out denim material will be increasingly used, within a context of designing even haute couture lines of womens clothing. This is because such material reflects the fact that Western societies continue to accumulate existential entropy. 4) The aesthetic effect of womens fashion in 2009 will be more dependent on particularities of their physical constitution.

Unnatural skinniness will continue to be considered as trendy, even though that 50 % of women in America, for example, can be diagnosed with obesity. 5) Dark colours will dominate in womens fashion of 2009, although it is also quite possible that many designers will continue to incorporate jovial colours in their clothing. 6) High heel boots are going to remain very popular, with their actual length being increased. As we have mentioned earlier, such tendency in footwear design corresponds to the fact that more and more women strive to expose their masculinity, rather then trying to hide it, as it used to be the case even in comparatively recent times. We can say that the year 2009 will not bring about any revolutionary innovations in fashion design, as there are no objective socio-political preconditions for that. The era of post-modernity can be described as time between time the Western civilization, as we know it, has largely ceased to exist, however, the era of barbarianism, has not began yet. On intuitive level, White people in Western countries sense that their bellyful idleness will not last for much longer. At the same time, they lack the spiritual qualities that would allow them to prevent their race from becoming extinct.

As result, more and more of them succumb to existential decadence, reflected in recent fashion trends. It appears to be only the matter of very short time, before they will start swallowing some poison, to make their skin looking paler and therefore, fashionable, as spiritually corrupted Romans used to do, before they were being sacked by barbarians.
