The Sun has many layers. The interior of the Sun includes the core, the radiative zone, and the convective zone. The photosphere produces the visible light we see, the chromosphere is the part of the solar atmosphere, and the corona is the outermost layer of the Sun. The sunspots are regions on the surface of the Sun. They seem darker because they are cooler than the surrounding photosphere.

The majority of the stars in our galaxy are main sequence stars. Main sequence stars are actively fusing hydrogen into helium in the middle (The Main Sequence).
