War War is quite a complicated subject. Basically, war is referred to as any violent and large scale conflict that may arise from the war between the tribes to the wars between the countries, nations, and empires. Be as it may, and whatever the factor of the war is (as these factors are very often too complicated and are, therefore, not completely understood), wars, by their nature are reliant upon truth, honor, and purity. The paper is aimed to examine and find support to this assumption by using William Shakespeare's Henry V, the war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, and the 7 Day Israeli War in 1967. Indeed, on the one hand, this assumption seems to have no ground, as in the world culture, the nations strive for the chance to live to their highest moral values like honor, purity, truth, and justice. From the given viewpoint, one can hardly claim that wars, by their nature, are reliant on these values.

Yet, on the other hand, the issue is much more complicated as it seems to be. One of the explanations is that throughout the world history wars have been the sources of serious moral questions and challenges, as the world nations often considered the wars to be noble. Some people (for example, Thomas Mann) were sure that the peace is the element of civil corruption, while the war is some sort of purification, liberation, and enormous hope. From this viewpoint, the wars are indeed reliant on such moral values like honor, truth, and purity. William Shakespeare's Henry V, in this respect, is, probably, the most active and dramatic experience the author ever offered to the readers (Marx).

Henry V, being the most warlike and the most religious of English kings, glorifies the holy war and nationalism (Fisk), and is driven by these values, - honor, truth, and purity. To a certain extent, the attitude to the war was explained by the fact that Englishmen as nation were emerging as international power. The war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, and the 7 Day Israeli War in 1967 also played on the feelings of the people, as they were, no doubt funded on truth, honor, and purity. These wars were, to a certain extent, prompted by the desire to enhance security at home, to spread democracy, and to fight for the best ideals and moral values.

Although the war itself is not solely based on democratic ideas and ideas of liberation, they have to appeal to some feelings to ensure participation in the war. For example, no secret that the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Israeli War of 1967 were some sort of fight for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political independence, thus appealing to the honor, truth, and purity. The Six-Day War in 1967, started by Israeli nation was justified by the excuse of defending the nation and the land. People, who were taking part in these wars, were sure that it was a very high honor" (Burlingame) to lose their lives in this warfare, and that those who were killed in action were esteemed more highly than the others (Burlingame). In addition, we can remind the words from Osama bin Laden's letters and appeals to people, where he also placed emphasis on 'honor, and spoke about the religious part of the war, the " the religion of Unification of God, sincerity, the best of manners, righteousness, mercy, honour, purity, and piety (Full text: bin Laden's 'letter to America'). Now, we can see that almost all wars appealed and called people to stop immorality, lies, and oppression among them, and to be the people of principles, manners, purity, and honor, to reject the immoral acts, and to fight for truth.

In such a way, by the examination of William Shakespeare's Henry V, the war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, and the 7 Day Israeli War in 1967, we can come to conclusion that wars, by their nature are indeed reliant upon truth, honor, and purity.
