Cultural Diversity Ones ethnicity becomes the most noticeable, in its relation to the lifestyle of this particular person. The racial and ethical affiliation is important, because this affiliation define peoples code of behavior. According to the recent discoveries, in the field of genetics, such behavior is at least 60 % genetically predetermined. It has been noticed that people of different ethical backgrounds react differently to the same set of circumstances. Slowly, psychologists began to realize that this can be attributed more to peoples racial affiliation then to the socio-economical aspects of their upbringing. People of European descend are known to be the least emotional of all.
As a matter of fact, many of them think that it is inappropriate to intensely express anger or joy. They know how to master their emotions, in order to never become subjected to them. People that belong to Black race are quite different, in this respect. Most of their actions are emotionally motivated. Asians are considered to be not quite as emotionally sensitive as Black people. The expression of their feelings is socially motivated.
This has to do with the fact that Asians are the most socially adaptable of all other races. Ethnic identity can become counterproductive, in social sense of this word, when it is being exploited for lobbying a political agenda. This is exactly what is happening in America. Promoters of multiculturalism try their hardest to convince people that ethnic affiliation does not define their essence as human beings, yet they divide people along the racial and cultural lines. This leads to social secularization, even though that it is being referred to as celebrating diversity.
In its turn, it undermines nations unity, because every ethnic group becomes most concerned about pushing its own agenda, rather than considering nations interests as the priority. Illegal Mexicans in America demand their legalization, yet they fly Mexican flags at their demonstrations and do not bother to learn English. This angers many native born Americans and leads to the rise of racial tension in this country. Bibliography: Williams, W. Racial Diversity at the Expense of Intellectual Diversity.
