After all of the comprehensive research let us look at the position of refugees and asylums that try to make their best, at the urban areas of Ireland. Sometimes we are approached by local people who are concerned that refugees and asylum seekers are getting more from the state than they do. Many of the stories we hear are Urban Myths which have become accepted as fact because people hear them from friends and neighbors. Let us tackle these Urban Myths and clear up any mistaken beliefs regarding asylum seekers and refugees. Refugee and asylum seekers are not the same. A refugee is a person who has been granted asylum in Ireland by the state.

An asylum seeker is a person who has applied to the state for refugee status. While their applications are being dealt with asylum seekers receive 19. 25 per week and live in a reception center. If they have children they also receive 9. 55 per week for each child. Asylum seekers are not allowed to work until theyve been given refugee status. Once a person has received refugee status theyre entitled to receive social welfare payments on the same basis as Irish people. They dont get money for cars, free mobile phones, taxis or free electricity.

They do have to pay car tax, insurance and their television license. Thus their standing is pretty weak during the period of time, which can be measured in years in some cases. All that is pure reality of the existing situation that appears to happen with minorities groups throughout the world. Seeing all these facts of discrimination of ethnic minorities on our moving towards bright future planet, some inevitable conclusions derive. These are the plain issues that racial discrimination is a problem indeed. Despite of the fact that we live in a modern and well-educated society and need to cooperate with each other, we have all these newly developed laws that abolished the legal discrimination long ago.

But the informal facts of ethnic disrespect still appear in various regions of the world. Whether it is a rural or more urbanized territory I think people should be more kind to each other despite of their ethnic identity. Personally I have experience in communicating and having business with all kinds of people. Do you know what I have discovered? I have discovered that a human is a human, no matter of what national identity or nationality a particular person is. Some people of similar to mine nationality and identity may be worse than some vilely disrespected minority representative and vice-versa.

Rather than trying to trace back the roots of any particular cultural practice or after fact, then, social and cultural it is probably better to be more interested in tracing the routes of our contemporary cultural diversity. The model of multiculturalism generated by these ideas is often termed multicultural (Back, 1996), implying a sense of simultaneous belonging in several different cultural traditions that are not restricted to groups or individuals from particular ethnic groups or geographical origins. For we are all now, to varying degrees, participants in what After Both (1996) calls Diaspora space a space that is inhabited not just by diasporas subjects (people with specific migrant histories and ethnic identities) but equally by those of us who are constructed and represented as indigenous. Thus, the key question is not where youre from but where youre at. The social and economic problems of these disadvantaged ethnicities are concerns to all. Will extension look carefully at its current race-specific practices in view of the research that we have just been so painstakingly presented with?

What role will our faculty have in helping communities understand the trends, issues, and options for approaching solutions powerful enough to generate human resource recovery among the underclass? Affirmative action programs offer no hope to the underclass. We examined the review of a broad range of research studies that show race-specific practices such as affirmative action, that have only benefited those blacks least in need. Worse yet, the truly disadvantaged people only get a negative social benefit from such practices. As an alternative we may consider a strong case for public policies that will stem the tide of social isolation characterizing today's urban poor. Consequently we may state, that the most effective way to improve the life chances of the ghetto underclass will come out of the actions implemented to improve the result, derived from universal programs, which the more advantaged groups of all races can positively relate to.

So we may only hope that in prosper future things will be better. Besides that, changes usually start inside the individual, so let us become more kind to each other and this will only give positive results. We will live in peace and safety, not worrying about our prosperity in the future, as well as our childrens.
