The Crucible The most interesting character in the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller is Abigail Williams. In the play she is a mysterious girl that believes in witchcraft. She blames others about witchcraft even though she is the one believing it. She is the "leader" of the girls, she tells them what to do and when to do it. For example when they were in the court room and she was brought in to testify against Mary Warren the girls kept repeating what Abigail said and they did everything she did. Abigail also is detested person.

People don't really like her because they know about what happened with John Proctor. Elizabeth Proctor, John's wife, Also knows about the affair between them. Abigail has lost the trust of many but some people still believe her. Is she really the bad person? She is a liar, malicious and selfish. Abigail at first lies about dancing in the woods naked and drinking blood.

Parris saw her and she still insisted that they were just dancing and that it didn't have anything to do with witchcraft. She tells everyone that Tituba is the one casting all the spells and that she is the witch. She lies about John Proctor to everyone. She lies about the poppet. Secondly Abigail at the end steals money from Parris Finaly Abigail shows selfishness by only caring about her self and and her wellness.

She would do anything to look good. She goes out of her way to get the troubles off of her and on to someone else. Abigail seems to bring the evil to the play. She has the wellness to make her self look good and put others down. She interacts with witchcraft and believes in it.

She lies about everything and tells lies to get the trouble off of her. She steals from the Reverend and runs away. She gets Tituba in trouble by telling the people that she is a witch and she knows the devil. Abigail seems like the bad person in the play and she causes all the problems in the play also.
