Can we ever decide whether or not a certain world view is righteous and true? The society we live in has become misguided and confused. One of the many issues that stands to be faltering our religious stance from getting where we want to be, is the question of whether or not atheism is a realistic world view. How can we say we are for a certain notion when we ourselves cannot even back up what we believe in? How much information must we hold before we entirely believe something? From todays debate we were all bombarded with a load of information, and Ive come down to this.

Though I already believed that atheism was not a realistic world view, I knew I had to give the opposing team a say. I believe nothing is entirely true or just until Ive heard both sides to the story, because for all I know I could be wrong. Despite the fact that everything I heard today comes only from theories, these theories could change the way our world / society sees everything. When evaluating a debate we must look for clarity and proof. When a reason is stated, we members of society must know why.

This was the one main reason I chose to stand with the Government party. The Government party stated countless persuasive ideas which they, surprisingly, were able to elaborate thoroughly even within the limited 3 minutes. Many ideas which they stated, I had never even come across. There is really no way to prove whether God is real or not, He is a supernatural being and cannot be tested. How can we say we are accidents, more so the earth itself was an accident? It is no accident the earth was created the way we see it, the universe we belong to is way too perfect to be distinguished as an accident.

When scientists, mathematicians, astrologists, etc... do their testing, how is it that somehow in the end they are capable of coming across a perfect solution. It is no accident the universe was formed the way it was, if one minor portion of the earth was miscalculated when it was formed, there wouldve been no way we nor the creatures living among us could be surviving the way we are. The Opposition party, however, had very convincing points themselves by bringing up the notion of having something come from something.

It is believable to say God was the one who created the creatures on heaven and earth, but who created God? Because of that, it is now possible to say God is just a figment of our imagination, that we came up with the concept of a God so that we ourselves wouldnt have to be referred to as an accident? That point struck me the hardest, it never hit me to think that we may have just thought up a God, someone we could call our Creator. Thinking of how God couldve just came from our imagination, it just makes me wonder who started the notion of a God, and if so, why?

It really made me wonder. The lack of evidence can really throw a person off from believing, or agreeing with what you are trying to prove. I noticed that somehow the Opposition team wasnt focused on one main theme. Bringing up many topics may seem to be a great way to get your message across, but having a lack of back up evidence does not give too much help, especially when asked during a rebuttal to elaborate on an opinion. If your party is not capable to thoroughly clarify a point which someone in the room has brought upon you, it really makes your party and the statement which you are trying to uphold look weak.

The Opposition party was asked to elaborate their usage of the point relating with the scientific revolution and how it had to do with the debate, when the opposition party was unable to, it really made the audience and many members of the court wonder if they really knew what they were talking about. In conclusion, having now heard both sides to the debate I see how I was right to have chosen the Government party in the first place. Its more than having numerous amounts of proof to back up the statement which you are trying to prove is the right one. When you are truly for an argument, the proofs you are using to back up your statement must be believable, and make enough sense that the spectators believe what you are trying to say no matter what. Also, if you are too persistent, you may end up pushing the crowd away from you. Many times, evidence found ends up to be proven wrong, so if a notion is truly just and accurate, no matter where it stands now, the real truth behind it will come out in the end.
