When having unprotected sex you are taking a risk, a risk to conceive a child. Every action taken has a consequence, and when a couple has unprotected sex, they must deal with the consequences. A woman who is old enough to conceive a child should take the responsibility to raise the child: abortion should not be an option since she took the risk. A woman should not have an abortion because she wants to; she needs a solid reason to do it. A reasonable instance for a women to get an abortion would be if she were raped; the baby was conceived out of incest; or that the baby or mother was in danger.
There are some other reasons that would make an abortion a reasonable decision. One of those reasons is that severe anomalies or chromosomal abnormalities with the fetus. Which can only be identified through amniocentesis. This is the test most commonly used to determine whether the child is abnormal or not.
In a few cases the embryo lodges in one of the woman's fallopian tubes, and has to be quickly surgically removed in order to prevent an almost certain death from blood loss (Cook 63 - 68). Seventy-five to eighty percent of rape victims that become pregnant choose to let the baby live and do not get an abortion. They believe an abortion would be just another act of violence perpetrated against their bodies and their children (web). " The unborn baby is just as inclined as anyone else is to have freedom of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Teenagers are the most apt to resort to abortion because of pressure.
Many reasons teenagers resort to abortion is because of ignorance and fear; teenagers often have irregular menstrual periods and do not realize they are pregnant until after the first trimester. When they then realize that they are pregnant, some see abortion as the only choice. They are either too young to raise a child themselves or too young to get married. Women need to realize the consequences of having unprotected sex; they need to understand that a baby is a human being. People make mistakes everyday, but they learn from their mistakes.
A women who gets an abortion is likely to get pregnant again because she did not deal with the consequences of raising the baby. The only reasonable instances for an abortion would be if the women were raped, the baby was conceived through incest; or that the mother or baby is in danger. Just because the woman cannot care for the baby does not mean that an abortion is necessary. There are many couples that are unable conceive a child and want to adopt one. The women that can not care for the baby should give their children up for adoption to families that are willing to take care of the baby.
