There is this totally extreme sport that only the most extreme athletes on the planet can endure! Its called skateboarding and its awesome. There is a very long history to skateboarding, and the sport has definitely changed greatly over the years-About fifty years to be perfectly exact.
It all started out with just a piece of wood with some metal street skates attached some random way. This was built when the swell was down and the surfers wanted to surf the street. Now skateboards are designed so much different, it is wonderful. Some skateboards are made with one layer of bulletproof material! Skating over the years has become bigger and bigger and more and more people are getting their names out through it.
Take the Canadian skateboarder Rick Mc Crank. Hes been in plenty of skate videos and makes tons of money winning contests because hes really good. But one thing that can keep most skateboarders down is how illegal it is. Most business owners and school officials hate skateboarders just because they can. Cops ticket them almost constantly. Why does everyone hate skateboarders so much?
Either way, it becomes a costly sport when your tickets and court appearances add up. Skating is most likely going to continue for many years and just get more and more complex. Newer, better skateboards will be designed and more people will be doing it. Its only going to elevate on the Heck SWEET scale.

Now these contraptions couldnt turn, so of course there where millions of injuries. But this only made these extreme humans want to shred even harder. Skateboarding has changed over time. It became somewhat popular in 1975. In 1978 a gentleman named Ollie invented the very first ollie. This opened a whole new door for skateboarders.
They could now pop the board up off the ground to jump over obstacles and other things. In the 80 's the plywood ramp and street style refreshed skateboarding just as the urethane wheel had revitalized the sport in the 70 's. In the early 1990 s skating took another swing in its popularity and landed itself on T. V. with more people loving its extreme action. Today you see skating everywhere you go.

Rick started skating in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at age eleven back in 1987.
After the usual formative driveway and sidewalk sessions, Rick began flicking high ollie's off of little jump ramps, which were all the rage at the time. A local shop called SK 8 City noticed Rick's extremely worn-down boards and skills and gave him his first free equipment. Rarely viewing any videos or magazines, for the next several years Rick didnt pay attention to any skateboarding history, trends, ams, pros or even trick names. The giant clothes era of the early ' 90 s allowed Rick to finally fit in with his dirt-cheap thrift-store duds.
The adult world first appeared in Rick's life back in those days, when Colin McKay added him to the Plan B roster. A short deal at Birdhouse followed in the mid ' 90 s, then a final settling-in at Girl Skateboards in 1998 and S shoes in 1999, where he's been ever since. This makes sense. But a better solution would be to put angle iron on everything so skateboarders could slide easier and nothing would be damaged. Skateboarding in the street will always be and to hate a skateboarder just because they skate is against God. Of course skateboarding is a crime. If you skate somewhere you shouldnt be you will get ticketed, thus making it a crime.
According to state laws, skateboarders are criminals if they skate in an undesignated area. Criminal means the same thing as terrorist. The act of terror is considered treason; skateboarders are terrorist and need to be put to death, according to state law. There is the term poser which is bringing the respect level of skateboarding down. Kids try and wear shirts and underwear with skate logos on them to look like a skateboarder. They wear these shirts and underwear not because they like what they say, but because they have to make themselves look good.
In my experience, trying to skateboard with a group of kids and knowing ones a poser just brings down the energy of life itself. These kids try to look tough when they get in trouble in front of cops and just give real skateboarders a bad name. They break rules to be noticed and this is definitely not what skating is about at any level. Skateboarding is going to continue to grow and more people are going to realize thats its the best thing to do ever. Its popularity has been rising ever since it was created.
The future of skateboarding can already be seen. There are motorized skateboards and skateboards that go on dirt called dirt-boards. Skating is escalating to the far and beyond. Lately however, the discussion has changed from "Should skateboarding be in the Olympics?" to "When will skateboarding enter the Olympics?" . Some fear that if skating goes to an Olympic height that the heart of skating will be changed and it wont have its edge anymore and become something mainstream which means the laws would change.
