The Literature of Puritan Puritan Literature is written in several forms. It expresses feelings, life, God, Gods word, Gods work and there attitudes. The main belief of the Puritans that was written about in the past is religion, and faith in God. They showed there feelings in stories, journals, and many other forms. Some of the major Puritan writers are: Anne Bradstreet, William Bradford, Edward Taylor, William Byrd, and many other.
The author of Huswifery, Edward Taylor express his feelings in a poem, he talks about how he wants the lord to use his body as a spinning wheel to glorify God and his word. He compares his body, and parts of his body to the spinning wheel, and parts of the spinning wheel. He asks God to transform him to make him better for the glory of God. This one story shows a break segment of how the puritans felt about and what there attitudes were and they believe deep in God and that he is the only true savor. They change ways, words, and feelings to fit in with God and good things to try to make people change to puritanism.
Jonathan Edwards author of Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God expresses his feelings in a story that tells God is not a man to mess with and that we are all bad people that are condemned to eternal damn nation. There is no way to become saved unless we are born agian, he uses this to prus wade people to convert back to puritanism and this worked for a small amount of people. So if you look in all the puritan writings you will see a bit of love for a few things many God and there faith in God. Most puritans are proud and happy about there faith because it is so strong they sound like they know that they are going to spend eternity in heaven with our savior Christ. These are just a few of the things that I learned form this and that I learned about the puritans. these statements show a few ways the puritans felt and how they expressed there feelings in there writings about there Faith and Love for people and God.
