Back to the drawing board Id like to spread my views on the so called copyright infringements in backyard wrestling. Although there is noone to my knowledge that has a copyright on the names of feds and wrestlers etc. But I have experienced some angry wrestlers that were arguing of the rights to use the name Hard Time. Now not to make myself look good or anything but the name Hard Time was created by myself 2 years ago and whether or not anyone else has created it themselves or borrowed the idea from me is besides the point.

Now this doesnt bother me at all because the fan base in Florence will never see or hear of the SNWA in but k New Mexico. But to others like the Psycho Fed and S. W. A.

California would be in a rage if I posted my new champion as Psycho Rob (who I have alot of kind and unkind words about) or X sanity. Nothin against them or the feds the wrestle for but those arent the most creative names Ive ever heard and I dont think are worth fighting for. I have on the other hand seen some great names and gimmicks in Backyard and E-wrestling over the net. Such as Irish Pride which was a name I stumble across on the E-fed Intense Championship Wrestling Federation website.

And Suicide Machine Rick Taylor of Extreme Wrestling Federation as well as some of my neighbours creations being Sir Coyote G. and my on Renton Cross. Besides the catchy names there is another end to the stick. That of course being the angle / gimmick your character will portray.

And in the world of backyard wrestling most people are to caught up in the extreme part to worry about why theyre wrestler wants to break a light bulb over his best freinds head. And yuan if your gonna be stupid like that you might as well be creative. So this brings me to my next topic and if youve read this far you might as well continue on. To me backyard wrestling is for fun and entertainment. Sometimes I put on shows for small crowds, but most of my time is spent in the backyard polishing my skills. And before I was trained I seen things like most of you do. Who can do the craziest things? Who can take the biggest bumps?

Ive done scaffold matches, ladder matches, Ive been through tables and although I never felt the need to blade some of my friends have and to me most of what weve done is just plan stupid. All the blood and gore is never appreciated in the end. Sure your fellow wrestlers will congratulate you on drawing blood and the fans will probably pop, but they will all forget about it tomorrow. I enjoy the odd table and chair but when have you gone to far? During the story done by mainstream media show 20 / 20 I watch as kids cut each other up with barbed wire and glass and afterward were proud of theyre accomplishments, now some of my readers out there may have done this themselves and I ask them how far do you think youll get into the buisness when all you know how to do is hurt yourself? Now if I wanted to go to the World Wrestling Federation Id be looking up to people like the Hardy Boyz who were self taught in theyre own backyard and proved themselves to a local indy by showing their tremendous wrestling skill instead of how well they can cut theyre foreheads.

Now I know how much fun it is when 50 of your friends cheer you on while you bash you brothers brains out with a frying pan but I rarely ever see any backyard wrestlers looking out for themselves. With an exception of Taz and New Jack, you will rarely see a fed wrestler try and hurt his opponent. And if they are hurting someone they will not be in the fed for long... for example the Cocky Ahmed Johnson and the Kick and Throw Steve Williams.

I know I wont be able to stop any of you from killing each other For the love of the sport but I dont want to see it happen and I ask for everyone to take that extra precaution before throwing little Billy off your balcony through 2 tables cover in tacks If I only had a brain? ? ? While searching a few pages I came across some unoriginal names and then some fairly artistic ones as well. But what angers me when a fed posts their new champion as Stone Cold George Hackenschmit... Even though backyard wrestling is about having fun. It has just got to the point to where I see it everywhere I go. Know I dont want to put anyone down but, Ive seen so many Undertaker/Kane ripoffs I think Im gonna get sick.

Now Im even putting myself down on this one because a wrestler in my fed does go under the name Gravedigger and at first was a Dead man ripoff. But when will (for you that have them) fans get tired of seeing a man that can turn off the lights with a little help from Stone Cold running the lights guy. Now nothin against the BWF, because Ive heard alot of praise on their behalf but this name really caught my eye. Lord of Darkness Prime Evil now to go along with his pure evil name of doom this spawn of Satan has 3 belts under his arm. Now Im not telling anyone what to do because I got as much pull as well something without alot of pull. But in the words of the late Owen Hart Enough is Enough and its Time for a Change Now I know how AAA feels.

On one end of the stick you got Backyard wrestling which has endless freedoms, you can go as extreme as you like, you can work any angle you want but then theres Independent where the big fat cat promoter / booker who wants to use you and abuse you till you have nothin left and either have a career ending injury, quit from the stress or if you get really lucky you might get to take the next step up... that being the fed. So why would 1 / 2 my roster want to move away and leave me behind if it sounds like a stupid thing to do. Well because just like the other thousands of wrestlers in North America running the independent circuit... they wanna get theyre break. Whatever the odds I will support the former FWF boys in their continuing battle against the fat cat in International Championship Wrestling.

Now since then what have we done to keep ourselves afloat. Well the high school has been raided for talent and is bone dry. So I turned to the internet, where I came in contact with many nearby backyard feds. Since then I have tried to put together some cards and our next one is July 3 rd (no plug intended). So this paragraph will hopefully give a little confidence to all them feds out there who have lost talent to injury or Indies or their parents saying its to dangerous.

No matter how bad things look if you are determined, and whether or not you end up setting up the ring by yourself on a lonley afternoon and dont get any credit for it. Well my opinion on why all of a sudden the mainstream media is focusing alot of negative attention on backyard wrestling is this: All the backyard feds have to love the attention. Being on network television, showing your best to the world but really were exactly what the media expects us to be... a bunch of gullible kids that hurt themselves for fun.

ABCs 20 / 20 supports a wholesome family oriented television production, and since World Championship Wrestling has began talks with ABC officials about a weekly program of Family Wrestling the World Wrestling Federation has put down on a weekly basis by both News and Comedy programs. And World Championship Wrestlings style of programming has been praised. Now where do we come in? Well were simply pawns, that ABC has used to put down the WWF. In the 20 / 20 program that featured a handful of brutal, untalented, wannabe Foley's that beat the crap out of each other with whatever they could find.

Im sorry but nothing pisses me off more then when a bunch of kids brutalize theyre bodies for nothin. But since these foolish children used Mick Foley as a mirror image of what they wanted to be, all 20 / 20 had to do was show the footage and make millions of parents around the world turn the channel next time they see their kid watch Monday Night Raw. So I ask that NO ONE give any footage of Extreme Backyard Wrestling to any major network because in the end well take it up the tail pipe.
