The Lack of money causes many similarities between the French Peasants and Third world nations. These similarities include lack of food, clothing, and shelter. The French Peasants and Third World countries also are more apt to acquire diseases because they have had very little if any education and have bad hygiene. French Peasants and the Third world Countries are similar again because they are both controlled greatly by people of higher standing, in the peasants case royalty, and countries of high standing influence or control the third world countries.
One major similarity between French peasants and third world countries today are both groups are uniformed. The main factor is the French peasants and the third world nations are not educated. Both groups never get the chance to be educated. In the novel if the peasants were well educated and well informed of the royalties lack of numbers they would have had a much easier time over throwing the nation. In the case of third world nations if they were well educated they would know about the usage of certain drugs and contraceptives to prevent disease and pregnancy. Also in the novel the peasants were not well informed of the people who were going to be put to death.
Many of the prisoners who would be put to death had no reason to be executed. Lack of money is a major similarity between the French peasants and third world nations today. The French peasants didnt have enough money to help nourish there children or themselves. The French peasant's clothes were old and ragged and they had small living quarters. Most third world nations dont have enough money to nourish their children or themselves either. The French peasants showed that they are under nourished and deprived when the barrel of wine was spilt on the road and they all ran out into the streets and began getting as much as they could.
This also showed how harsh times were in France during this time period because wine is a huge product in France and many of these peasants have never tasted the wine before. The French peasants and third world countries are definitely similar in that they are very poor. Both the French peasants and the third world countries are controlled greatly by groups of higher standing than they are. Bibliography:
