... n. It was pretty good. Now Billy Bob had a float that went to extreme measures. He had made a thirty foot beer keg. Thirty luminous feet of tin-foil.
He had it down to the a T, it was actually really nice. Jim explained with some excitement. Miss Daisy had a giant car. A this-five foot orange car. The number zero one on the sides and a confederate flag on it. It was sure to be a finalist.
Ben Dover had a huge rocket ship. A leng slender body, coned at the top, with two perfectly round gas tanks at the bottom. This too was sure to be a finalist. Betty Lus was big horse, bay colored with a flowing mane and tail. It looked as if it were running a hundred miles an hour.
Personally this was my favorite. Jim said this with some pride. Ms. Billington had a golden broom, and it really sucked. It was horrible, it was clearly put together at the last minute. Everyone was lined up ready to be judged and departed.
However Barbara was no where to be seen. Jim said this mysteriously trying to get some suspense in the atmosphere. The crowd became a cloud of gossip everyone couldnt believe the rich witch elitist snob ice queen had not shown. The contestants urged to start, so each had a chance to win. It was nine forty-five, nine fifty-five, then ten oclock. Barbara was disqualified and the parade began.
The crowd and contestants were shocked, but also were glad. Everyone cheered in some pretend, all were in wonder where the nasty old barracuda had disappeared to. Jim almost whispered. Billy Bob and the keg recieved the consultation prize, it was well deserved. Betty Lu took the second, and Ben Dover took the first, in some astonishment.
Now everyone was glad but they all were a little anxious to find Barbara. They all new she wouldnt have missed this for the world. Jim again said this mysteriously. Betty Lu and Miss Daisy took a car to look for her at her house.
Also a small group sent off to see the wicked witch. Betty Lu and Miss Daisy arrived first, and the first thing they saw was the float. It was truly magnificent, sure to be the winner again. The float had an angel suspended over a small blue plastic pond. Big puffs of white were situated around the float, they were the clouds.
Then there was a rainbow that encircled the entire float. After everyone got over the beauty of the float they decided to check the house for Barbara. Jim said this very suspiciously. Well tell us what happened, dont stall now! the group pressured Jim. The little mob knocked on the door, no answer, the knocked again, still no answer.
They then beat on the windows and yelled for her to answer the door. Still not a peep. Are about an hour of looking and trying to get in the police were called. Barbara's cars were all here, and there were not any new tire tracks. The police came, picked the lock and preceded into the house.
They walked into the kitchen to find her body lying on the floor. The white linoleum floor was covered in blood. It was splattered all over the counter, walls, and the floor. Her body lay in a pool of crimson blood. There was a bullet hole behind her right ear and the left half of her forehead was gon. Brains, blood, and all were splattered all over her beautiful kitchen.
Jim sorrowfully mentioned this. Well what happened? The group inquired. Everyone looked at her in shock, horror, fear, and almost relief. The people all ran home as if to run way from what they saw.
The awkward little body in such a big kitchen. The displacement of her in the huge house. The single person in a house fit for fifty. Truly she was out of place, she was so small trying to run something so big. She was out of place in her house, in the town, and out of place in the world. Every rubber-neck that went up there are now haunted day in and day out.
Not a day goes by when they dont see the mid frail body of the mid fifties woman. Her body like a limp noodle, soaked in blood. Half of her head was gone, her white dress with purple roses stitched on soaked in blood. The terrified look in her eye, the one that saw everybody with horror and shock.
The one that never closed, but looked at everyone haunting them forever. The picture in everybody's mind of the dead lady, laying on her kitchen floor for hours, lying there for the wrong cause. No matter how much everyone hated her no one knew why someone would to to such great lengths to kill her. Perhaps someone that wanted to win the parade, maybe the winner the parade, Ben Dover.
Jim explained this very sad fully. Come tell us hurry up were almost to the jail, what happened next? the group tried to hurry jim. The police arrested all of the contestants and anyone else they thought could be tied to the murder. The examined the site, questioned the suspects, and after weeks of searching they finally cracked the code and made an arrest. So now thy have their killer.
We are here to find who did it and maybe even why. As we gaze upon this concrete cell wonder why and who? So lets take a gander. Jim enthusiastically said. The grouped flocked to the cell, there was a small window at the top, and a box laying beneath it. Jim automatically ran over and jumped up to see, and as he gazed in he screamed, fell back, and almost began to weep.
Everyone else then rushed up the window to see. The sight showed everyone, everyone sat down puzzled, perplexed, and quite dissatisfied. The person int he cell sat there crying, it was a scene body hunched in the corner. Their knees were pulled to their chest, their head sunk between the knees.
The head only looked up once to see who looked in through the window. The person wat with tears running down her face, shame in her eyes, and sorrowfulness in her face. She had a look like she water the floor to open adn swallow her, she just wanted to end her life right there in the cold cell. Why? Why? Why?
the grouped asked eachother. Betty Lu sat in that cell, the best friend, the person no thought was capable of doing such an awful thing. She must hav wanted to win the parade, which she didnt, so the motive had to be different. She might have killed her to end hte misery for all. However everyone now knows who it is.
She will only confess to the father of church, but no one will ever know why. No one will know because the next day when the chief went to get Betty Lu, she was gone, not a sight. There was no clue, or hint where she went, but the killer is gone forever. Bibliography:
