Marco Polo and Ibn Battuta were two travelers who traveled long and challenging distances to trade, explore, and record the differences of eastern countries. It is evident from the recordings, these men were very observant and interested in the discovery of other society practices. Three salient issues discussed in the travels or Marco Polo and Ibn Battuta are the structure of society, the treatment of women, and the habits, beliefs, rituals and practices of other societies. It was obvious that people in this society had an extensive trading business with one another.
