The story of the Jungle Video is based around Walter, a low on life type of guy and his friends. Walter has a rough start in the story, he is dumped by his girlfriend in a rude manner, and is kicked out of his apartment, also not in the most appropriate way. These two events turn Walter s life upside down. The two girls who had kicked Walter out of their lives, also kicked Walter below the belt. In a sudden turn of events Walter becomes depressed feeling as if he was not wanted by anyone. The two people he had trusted had stabbed him in the back and replaced him with someone they thought to be better.

Walter then wandered through with his head down in life until he bumped into a new job and new group of friends. These new friends of his brought out the talents, and life inside Walter. Ralph Lombreglia has created a story about a man and how his friends can be his richest asset in his life. Ralph tells us the story of man who has had his life rearranged.

The man named Walter had no one left in his life and needed to be picked up, that is when Ralph shows how a couple of good friends can pick you right back up to the top of the world. This is a story of true friendship and how all you really need in life is a good friend. After Ralph gives the reader the feel in which Walter is depressed and has nothing in his life the author transforms that impression into one in which Walter is a misfit in a fast paced small organization. Walter s friends are up late at night making a mess and causing a lot of noise. Without consulting Walter at all the friends change the whole business project, in which they were all working on together. Walter seems like the one left out as his friends each have someone in their lives, but Walter has no one.

It seems as all Walter s friends have other lives they lead, but the only life Walter leads, is the one with his friends in the apartment. This goes on through the story, Walter seems like the piece of the puzzle which is wedged in. As the story progresses it is realized that Walter is not really wedged in between the friends, but is actually a perfect fit. This is shown when they all come together to help Anita who feels bad after producing a bad video. The friends all take her out for a night for a dinner and a couple drinks. During this dinner they all connect and share things with each other, each friend supporting the other.

When they receive fortune cookies, Walter reads his, but instead of telling his friends what it really says, he tells them that his friends are his greatest wealth. The next day Walter finally meets Rebecca, the girl Anita has been trying to get him together with for the past while. So finally as the story ends it is realized that Walter has the best friends a guy could and possible a future with a new friend. The author does a very good job in showing the reader how Walter s friends are the ones who save him from being down on himself and left out. From the beginning of the story the author shows how Walter has been mistreated by two people whom he trusted. Ralph then leads the reader to believe that he really does not fit among his new friends.

Ralph Lombreglia the author does a great job in making Walter seem as a misfit, someone who does not belong in the life he is leading. Walter is portrayed as a burden to his so-called friends. In the end the author makes the reader realize that Walter actually does fit in very well, and all the friends are close to one another. This was a very good story, the author did a great job of making the reader realize friends are the most prized possession in the world. Friends will do everything money and objects will not do. A friend is there to pick you up when you are in need.

A good friend may not seem like a friend at times, because a good friend will push a person to become better and to have fun and help them when they are in need. A good friend will be there with you no matter what in the hardest of times. If jail when needed, but a good friend will there within jail.
