Go Ask Alice, was a real diary of a young girl. The author of the book was anonymous. It was written and published in March 1998, by Simon &# 038; Schuster Inc, in New York. There were no specific settings in this book because Alice ran away from home a lot and went all over the place. Although the book didn t state the exact places she lived in, it did say that she went from her small town to big cities such as San Francisco, Salt Lake City and Denver. The main character in this book was Alice.

She was a fifteen-year-old girl who wanted to become a social worker when she grew up. Alice didn t have many friends, and she was very insecure about her body. She was seduced into a world of drugs. The drugs were so powerful that she couldn t deal with the problems she had at home, so she ran away. She tried to stop taking drugs a couple of times but it was so hard that she always went back on it. Alice finally stayed sober but was tricked into taking drugs again and she tried to kill herself but ended up in a mental hospital.

When Alice was seventeen she overdosed on sleeping pills and died. Her parents were also important in the book. They were the ones who were always there for Alice. They still loved her even after the times she ran away from home. They were the ones who were always worried about her and they were the ones who cared about her the most. They always bailed her out of situations and set her back on the right track.

They were also the ones who found her dead after they came home from the movies one night. Chris was also an important character. She was Alice s best friend after Alice s return from her grandparents house. Chris was a drug addict who always shared her stock with Alice. Chris and Alice ran away from home to San Francisco and found a dirty, smelly little one-room apartment.

They were both weak and sick of life at this point, and survived by supporting each other. The book started out with Alice and her family in the process of moving to a new town. It turns out she hates her new town and she returns to her old town in the summer to visit her grandparents. Alice made friends instantly and was invited to a party by a girl she met. Alice went to the party and was tricked into taking drugs by drinking a coke, which was laced with acid. That s when it all started for Alice, pretty soon she started smoking marijuana, doing acid and having sex.

When Alice arrived back home, she met a girl named Chris and they became friends instantly. Chris helped Alice out whenever Alice wanted to do drugs. Then one day, Alice and Chris decided to run away to San Francisco together. They found a little dirty, smelly one-room apartment. They both barely make enough money to support themselves and to buy drugs. Eventually both of the girls got sick of the lifestyle and called their parents to come pick them up.

After Alice returned home, she decided she wanted to become drug free. It was a very hard battle for her because she couldn t stop thinking about drugs. It was going fine until her old friends at school started to harass her and her family. Alice thought she was going to go crazy but she didn t give in.

When Alice was babysitting one day, she accidentally ate some raisins which were laced with acid. She had such a bad reaction that she almost killed herself, and was later sent to a mental institution. After Alice came home from the mental institution, she became completely sober. Alice decided not to keep another diary because she did not wish to look back at her past, and think about the things she had done while being involved with drugs. Her parents found her dead three weeks later, after they came home from a movie.

The book did not explain what happened, it just told us that she died of an overdose on pills. The point of view of the story was written in first person. This was a good way to tell the story because it was so honest that the reader could have thought that he / she knew Alice. It helped the reader to truly see what was going on inside Alice s head and what it would be like in her shoes. Go Ask Alice was written in the form of a diary. It was a true story about a teenage girl and her life while she was involved with drugs.

This style made it seem like Alice was just one of the millions of people who struggled with drugs. The diary also brought the reader closer to Alice and it left you wondering why she killed herself, or what would of happened if she didn t kill herself and kept another dairy. The purpose of the book was to inform people of the terrible consequences with you get involved with drugs. It showed how much power drugs can have over a person s life and how much it can impact the person physically and mentally.

The message was meant to scare people and for them to stay away from drugs. The book gave the reader some insight about what happens with actual drug users.
