Tourism Industry Europe seems to be the most popular foreign destination for most Americans. More than seven million people cross the Atlantic each year. Many International organizations affect international travels and help to make traveling quick, simple, safe and efficient. The purpose of this work is to analyze how a trip to Switzerland can be affected by such organizations. International trip to any country, including Switzerland will be immediately affected by many factors. A large number of organizations and committees supervise the traveling transportation, accommodation and safety and they affect not only the final product of their work, which is the trip to the Switzerland, but also affect each others work, cooperate and interact with each other.

The first step on planning the trip to Switzerland is contacting the European tourist offices for information about the country. The purpose of travel agencies is to tailor the trip according to customers requirements, supply general information about Europe and Switzerland, give recommendations on traveling services. The travel agencies and tourist offices are strongly supervised and influenced by many organizations, among which are: The World Tourism Organization, The World Travel and Tourism Council, The European Travel Commission, The International Air Transport Association, The International Civil Aviation Organization, The Federal Aviation Administration. Some organizations or departments, such as The United States Department of State co-work with travel offices and indirectly affect the price and the quality of provided services. In addition, these organizations influence each-others work, which in turn, would influence the trip itself. The World Tourism Organization, The European Travel Commission and The World Travel and Tourism Council are the leading international organizations in the field of travel and tourism.

They serve as global forums for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism information. The membership of these organizations include more than hundred countries, they represent local government, tourism associations and private sector companies. These are profit and non-profit organizations, whose common goal is the development of the international tourism and quality of the services. The mission of The World Travel and Tourism Council is to raise awareness of the full economic impact of travel and tourism as the best opportunity for rising job numbers. The World Travel and Tourism Council issue information about traveling agencies and tourism service suppliers. On a regular basis, The World Travel and Tourism Council supervise the work and services of traveling agencies, travel service suppliers, so it would be convenient and safe to follow their instructions.

The World Travel and Tourism Council give recommendations on choosing the eligible travel agency that would tailor a trip to fit the customers requirements. The World Travel and Tourism Council also provide annual reports on the traveling and accommodation information in the chosen country. Apart from supervising the eligibility of the travel agencies The World Travel and Tourism Council also cooperates with The European Travel Commission and The World Tourism Organization. The European Travel Commission is a non-profit organization that promotes and guides travels in Europe. Thirty three National Tourist Organizations are members of The European Travel Commission. The purpose of this Commission is to promote tourism to Europe in general, and to their individual countries in particular.

It provides travel-specific information and ideas on traveling to Europe, offer tips on such topics like accommodation, behavior and money handling in a chosen European Country. The information, provided by The European Travel Commission about European countries including Switzerland is essential to the traveler, as it includes sights and places not only popular among the tourist, but also among the native citizens of the Switzerland. The person, who wants to see Switzerland from inside and to feel himself the real Swiss, should review the information, provided by the European Travel Commission. The World Tourism Organization promotes and develops the tourism.

The joint work of The World Travel and Tourism Council, The European Travel Commission and The World Tourism Organization insures that in the travel agencies customers are provided with fullest information about the place of visit, such as Switzerland, all necessary safety regulations, quality accommodation and service and additional tips for diverse and unforgettable pastime. In turn, The World Tourism Organization focuses on regulation of international and Intra-European air carrying, liberalization of air fares and services, simplification of rules and supports the initiative for removing the traditional to air carrier service nationality clauses from air service agreements. Such topics are regulated with the air carriers that The International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Air Transport Association comprise. This policy makes Switzerland, which recently joined the European Community, a very attractive tourism center.

This is due to the air carrier fares, which are tailored to satisfy the needs of every customer. By cooperating with The World Tourism Organization and helping to control airline costs the International Civil Aviation Organization contributes to cheaper tickets and shipping costs. Today a total of 100 Airlines and more than 900 travel agents are promoting Switzerland tours. This clearly shows that it has been fully accepted by the market and is the tool for the industry to minimize the administration and single transactions expense as much as possible. The decrease of the travel fares results in expansion of the number of intra-European community air-transportation, as well as international, which results in growing the number of people who choose to travel to Europe. Switzerland is one of the smallest countries in Europe, but its strategic situation ensures that travelers who chose trip to the nearby countries either forced to pass it in the way to another country or deliberately choose to visit it due to low prices on intra-European airlines.

Such policy directly complements the goal of The World Travel and Tourism Council, The European Travel Commission and The World Tourism Organization in developing and promoting international and European tourism. International Air Transport Association airlines comprise more than 98 percent of all international scheduled air traffic. The benefits are shared with the air carriers operating the routes concerned. The International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Air Transport Association operate the safest, most complex, and most efficient air navigation system in the world.

Since these airlines face a rapidly changing world, they must cooperate in order to offer a seamless service of the highest possible standard to passengers and cargo shippers. For consumers, The International Civil Aviation Organization simplifies the travel and shipping process. The International Civil Aviation Organization and The International Air Transport Association also cooperate with tourist offices and help to make the travel agent services free as these services are usually paid through commissions from travel suppliers, for example: airlines, hotels, cruise lines or car-rental companies. The International Air Transport Association ensures that world transportation network operates fast, easily and safe under clearly defined rules as if they were on a single airline in a single country. The work of the Federal Aviation Administration is closely connected with the work of The International Civil Aviation Organization and The International Air Transport Association. The Federal Aviation Administration is responsible for the safety of civil aviation; it issues and enforces regulations and minimum standards covering manufacturing, operating, and maintaining aircraft.

The International Civil Aviation Organization and The International Air Transport Association certify their aircrafts and airmen with The Federal Aviation Administration. The Federal Aviation Administration promotes aviation safety and encourages civil aviation abroad, exchanges aeronautical information with foreign authorities, certifies foreign airmen and aircrafts and exchanges the safety information and certifications with the foreign countries. The United States Department of State is also one of the factors affecting a trip the Switzerland, as it issues visas. The United Sates citizens do not need a visa if they are staying in Switzerland less than three months. However, the US residents might need a visa if their visit exceeds three months or if the purpose of visit is education or long-term business.

As it can be seen, any trip to Europe or Switzerland will be affected with many factors, which are the results of work of various traveling and air-carrying organizations. These organizations interact with travel agencies, with each other and with The United States Department of State in order to provide the customers with the best service, entertainment and safety for the most sufficient price.
